Yesterday I went into Sophie‘s thrift store and purchased four outside barstools . She put a sticker on the four barstools but my son out there to go pick them up today, three of them were gone. Now they did refund my money, but in the interim of all this, I got rid of my four outside barstools from home. So now here I sit with absolutely no seating for my company tonight. When called they did refund my money, but that really doesn’t matter to me because I bought and paid for those stools yesterday. Peyton, the assistant manager apologized, but said that’s all she can do. There’s no compensation for me or my son who drove the 40 miles round-trip to go pick them up.. Her comment was that was their mistake, but there’s nothing more they can do. So what I’m saying, please be careful because they will sell things from underneath you.. And by the way, it takes four days to get your money back from the bank. Totally disappointed I am so angry right now for their incompetence and their lack of caring. One more thing is, I heard the girl on the phone when she passed the phone to Peyton who said, that she was all yours. And I didn’t appreciate that remark on the other side of the phone either. if that’s how they do business I think everybody needs to be aware of the workers there. The management is totally unprofessional. And when I asked to speak to the manager, she said you’ll have to wait. He won’t be back for several days. Let this last statement sink in. Peyton said that this will be a learning experience for them in training the...
Read moreDefinitely like this thrift store especially because it benefits the humane society but I feel like there are a couple areas to improve upon.
I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because they are now charging you a fee to use your credit card (and they don't accept check) This seems like they are punishing the loyal patrons that support this business on top of that they have the audacity to ask you to donate a dollar for the humane society. I support the humane society by 1. Shopping at Sophie's and 2. Donating my stuff to Sophie's.
This thrift store decided to close off their restroom because someone used it incorrectly punishing all the people that come and support this thrift store.
Prices are just as bad as Goodwill! Don't let the other reviews fool you. They get the stuff for free and then research it and mark up the items just like Goodwill.
This thrift store has one color tag item 50% off which changes weekly.
I don't understand the thinking process of not allowing the vintage clothes to ever go on sale but vintage housewares are allowed? Please make it make sense. They clearly know that vintage housewares are Collectible too because they have pulled them and gave them a location up front locked away in glass cases.
Pros:
Things that are priced better than goodwill: Kids books are 4/$1 VHS Tapes are 2/$1 These are great deals!
Sophie's thrift store is very clean and doesn't smell like a thrift store at all!

Read moreA hidden gem in Heath, Sophie's is one of our favorite thrift stores! They only accept and sell nicer merchandise and often have high quality items and a wide variety of things. The staff/volunteers are always friendly, the store is very clean and superbly organized, and displays are attractive and timely rotating with the seasons. They also have a vintage area with wonderful pieces from the past if you're looking for something truly unique. Prices are very reasonable and you can sign up for text alerts to be notified of special sales (e.g. yesterday, dresses were 75% off - I was able to buy a few for less than $2 each!) But best of all? Proceeds support the Licking County Humane Society and the photos of sweet, furry faces on the walls remind you that every purchase helps to make a little critter's life better. No matter if you are a casual or serious thrifter, or if you just like bargains, this shop should definitely be...
