I bought a truck through them in June, unfortunately. They first said they were not legally allowed to sell me the vehicle because I was coming in from out of state, which obviously isn't true. Once I told them how out of state sales work, they then allowed me to purchase the vehicle (how is that my responsibility).
The title clerk was "out of the office" the day I was there. So, they signed a "What we owe" document promising to overnight the title the next day. Then, of course, they did not send the title until three weeks later. On top of that, they sent the title to the wrong address, even though I confirmed the correct address with them twice. Then they had to get the previous owner to go to the DMV and get a new title, which took four weeks to do. I called them over 24 different times to try and get an update on the title and they would just say we'll call you back. Believe it or not, they would rarely call me back. It took so long to get the title that my insurance company found me un-insurable and my bank threatened to cancel my loan, because I couldn't prove ownership in a reasonable time frame. It also was out of the refund window for my state from my previous registration, causing me to lose hundreds of dollars from that as well.
They said over the phone that it has a certified pre-owned 100,000-mile warranty, when I got there it was only 36,000. They said it came with two keys, but only had one. They failed to mention that the truck reeked of cigarette smoke that cost me hundreds of dollars and over 50 hours to remove. They also tried to tell me that I had to pay sales tax to them and not the DMV, trying to get more money from me.
Since I was traveling from out of state, I told them five days ahead of time I would be at the dealership when they opened to finish paperwork and leave for my long drive back. When I got there at open, they spent the next five hours "replacing the tires and detailing the vehicle". I got outside financing, so there was very little work for them to do on their side as I came in with a cashier’s check for the agreed upon asking price.
They said I would be compensated for my time and troubles throughout this process, but absolutely ghosted me and won't respond to my emails.
Could I recommend this dealership?...
Read moreMy experience wasn't horrible. First time car owner so the process was a bit long. However, my friend had a different salesmen than I did and received better perks. It could be a case by case credit situation. I didn't feel uncomfortable but there's certain information that wasn't relayed to me and there were a few things I didn't know anything about until my friend mentioned it to me. I felt like I was buying a debt and not a new car. The only thing I had an option in was the type of car and color. I mentioned the mileage and did not get the option to choose until I inquired. I did get a perk for gas after my salesman posed an argument. All in all it wasn't a bad experience. The only reason I didn't go to the salesmen my friend mentioned is because she didn't have his card to give me his name and I was in a transportation and time conflict. Maybe things would have turned out different. No one was rude or forceful.
Follow- up from Dec 2018- March 2022** I am an employee with the Big 3 and the individuals who handled my first time buy took advantage of that and used my employee discount plan for a customer who I don't even know! I found out through email that's tied to my benefits. They copied my information for repeated use when all they were supposed to do was allow me to call get my information and input it myself. I also found out these sales reps came from another branch to help this dealership out for the holiday. When I found out the information, I asked for a copy of everything the manager was compliant however he did not aide in reprimanding those salespersons, he did not call the dealership they worked at nor offer any compensation for what was gained from my business or using my personal information grossly. If you visit this branch make sure they work there and NOT the...
Read moreI made an 7:30a appointment for a diagnostic test and recall part, thinking this would put me ahead of the crowd. I was told the process would take maybe 5 hours. However, after not hearing anything for over 6 hours I called and was told end of business day. By the end of the day I had to call Again and was told the next day because the part didn't come in. I called after lunch the next day after not hearing anything yet again and the person I was dealing with was out too lunch, and the other rep had no clue About my car. I was told he would go to the back and call me right back. He never did. I called a couple of hours later and was told the recall part didn't come and the diagnostic would be finished later. I called back again near the end of the day and was told I would get a call back in 30-40 minutes. The call I received gave me a report of the diagnostic (at a pretty hefty cost - I was told 1 fee was waived), but I was told the recall part wouldn't be available for 3 weeks and would I like to schedule. I declined. I didn't like the untimely callbacks. I called another dealership to schedule the recall because I was just over Snethkamp and received an appointment for the same week. I then receive a call from the rep at Snethkamp the next week telling me that the part was ordered and in. I explained that I scheduled Another dealership and was basically told I couldn't/shouldn't And the other dealership would loose money because Snethkamp had already ordered. I explained that wasn't mentioned and I had no desire to return to Snethkamp. I only went to Snethkamp because my nephew had just had a good experience. Well mine was the total opposite and I have no desire to...
