Motor City Coney Island Restaurant — Restaurant in Detroit

Service is extra slow. They've been a staple of the neighborhood for over 30 years. Original cooks seem to still be doing their thing on the grill. I ordered what was supposed to be 2 breakfasts. There was only 1 prepared once I got to the window. Drove around to get my second order completed and waited about 20-30 minutes only to receive someone elses breakfast. I asked if it was mine before paying because I knew the person in front of me left the establishment due to the wait and the staff didnt know. Mind you they dont keep their eyes on the line. I was reassured it was correct. It wasn't. I called for someone to come back to the drive thru, but they have stopped answering calls. Went inside to pay the difference and receive what I originally ordered and was met with hostility and confusion from a new server due to being short staffed and over worked. I had to explain 3 times and slowly what the problem was. Once the server was shown how to work the register for my transaction my card and receipt were thrown into the change dish with a "Have a nice day". It'll be a while before I decide...

They have a very nice variety of dishes (with descriptions) on their menu that will keep you coming back to try different dishes until you develop a favorites list. It's a little pricey but what do expect for a place that's open 24/7

Service is behind a bulletproof glass so it's a bit impersonal and the cashiers could learn to smile a bit more when taking your order.

Atmosphere: the dining area has all the charm and allure of a chow hall in a prison. It's practically criminal to consume such good tasting food in such a dreary environment. The dining room floor is seemingly always sticky and or slippery.

Parking is adequate especially if you call in your order....you'll be in and out in no time.

Their service, specifically from the women at the windows and counter, is horrible. They are rude, dismissive and not individuals that should be working with customers. The prices at this coney island are about two dollars higher than other city coneys. I'm assuming this is because they are near the casino. I ordered a chili fry that had stale fries and when I told the cook, he told me fries are supposed to taste like that. I live in the neighborhood, but leave this restaurant as a very last option. I am not a big fan of leaving reviews, especially if all I have to say is negative things. But tonight was the last straw. They passed my order out through a window that was soaking wet and instead of them wiping up the mess they put my order, credit card and receipt in the liquid....
