I shop here every week to every other week. Lately the quality control has really gone down hill. Food going bad before the dates on the packages ( some timed the day after purchasing ). Had some fish we found was bad as we were checking out. And the latest. We found a live caterpillar or something and what looked like larva in our broccoli we bought there. I bought it on the 23rd. I brought it in to the store today to be returned( we went to use it tonight) With original packaging in a ziplock bag as my partner didn’t notice it until she opened it. Well…. When I went to return it the other broccoli looked pretty dirty and disgusting in the packaging so I declined a replacement. Didn’t get any money back which wasn’t a HUGE deal ($3.00 isn’t going to break me) but what DID piss me off is the cashier “we don’t know if it came from you or not” I’m sorry…. Are you suggesting I went out and found a caterpillar in DECEMBER in Pennsylvania? When it’s been snowing and freezing outside? To what? Loose $3.00 worth of broccoli? That is WILD. LOL. Blaming the customer is not the right way. I think I’ll shop another Aldi for a while. I dunno if the video will post but the...
Read moreAlfie is an awesome place to shop for groceries. It's very unique in ways that sets them apart from other grocery stores. You put quarters in their baskets to take one, so all of those people who think the world is supposed to clean up after them won't just leave their carts in the middle of the parking lot. You won't find specialty items here, it's all about the basics. Their prices and brands are super affordable, (still doing pretty good even in this horrible inflated economy). But one thing that used to set them apart was their cashiers. They would move at blistering speeds, getting through lines faster than you thought was humanly possible. But....not any more, as they have drastically slowed down, trying to force people in self checkout lines, (which I hate, so yes I am being biased). I hope that Aldi's goes back to their roots. I do understand the squeeze that the government have forced markets in, and maybe we never go back to the "pre COVID" life that was so much more enjoyable. Continue to fight to keep your prices low Aldi, and whoever is reading this, you can't go wrong...
Read moreWe visit this store regularly and I was quite disappointed with my last experience. The employees were not friendly, and I encountered an unsettling situation where an employee (Assistant manager Diana) yelled at me for simply looking at a package on a cart that was blocking the aisle. Because her cart was blocking the aisle, I was only checking the calorie information on the English muffins. I felt that the employee's response was uncalled for. Additionally, there is usually only one cashier working at a time, which can lead to long waits. we asked the cashier, Jayce, what her name was and he refused to tell us. He told us we could take our review /complaint and business and go shopping somewhere else because everyone loves her (the employee that yelled at me in the isle) . Then he walked away. he was incredibly rude and dismissive. While the store's prices are competitive, the consistently rude behavior of the staff significantly detracts from the overall...
