My girlfriend and I arrived at the store shortly after they opened on Friday 8/29. I needed a rain jacket for the weekend since I forgot to pack mine. Upon checking out, My girlfriend told the cashier that she was a teacher so she could get the teacher discount. Upon showing the cashier a recent paystub in an email from her district office, the cashier began raising her voice and was very rude to my girlfriend over not having a true “school ID”, which she left at home because we are on vacation. The (what appeared to be) manager said the pay stub was acceptable since it is shown on the email that it Is from the district.
We both understand that you need to verify employment to receive the discount. We were just very appalled by the VERY rude tone of the cashier. Upon showing the paystub the cashier said “what am I looking at?! Do you have a form of government ID?!”
We won’t be back, I hope other teachers see this and don’t have the same...
