South Shore Sports Center — Local services in Hingham

Place has good indoor turf for soccer and decent basketball court. However they need to get better refs who actually run up and down the field or are in better shape for soccer games and not the same old man who barley has a pulse.

Also didn't like the racist undertone that me and my friends felt from one of the workers specifically an older white lady with salt/pepper hair. My friends and I were watching the basketball game by the snack shop and were in a passionate discussion about who the best basketball players of all time are when she rudely interrupts us and interjects herself in our circle and asks us to take the conversation outside!!

Here is the issue. It's a SPORTS Facility!!! YOU HAVE A BAR UPSTAIRS!!! You CAME into our circle, you SEE us in a private conversation, the place is still obviously OPEN because there is a game going on and because YOUR SCARED you give us ATTITUDE and ask us to take our conversation outside as if we don't PAY to PLAY. NEWS FLASH It's not our job to make you feel comfortable. ALSO Here is some advice DON"T work in a SPORTS REC/ OR WORK the night shift if you can't handle loud conversation or get scared of...

They offer so many programs (which are great) but as a facility that I go to with young children there is a lot of room for improvement, such as:

1. Facilities are showing a lot of wear and tear, some investment would be great
2. They seem understaffed during the weekdays and the staff seem to ALWAYS be on their phones. It should not take 20 minutes for me to flag someone down to sell me a bag of popcorn (especially frustrating if going there with young kids to their weekday soccer programs or kids play sessions)
3. In the summer, beware of mosquitoes INSIDE! When it gets hot in the evenings they open up all the doors to the facilities and mosquitoes swarm in, I was eaten alive. They linger there for days, so even if the doors are close you're still getting swarmed.

I really liked this facility for a time, but have found that they seem to be OK with the status quo and have not been investing in their staff and...

We had our son’s fourth birthday party at Kids World last week. My husband and I were INCREDIBLY impressed throughout the entire planning process. Kim in the front office is kind, detail oriented and very clear about all of the offerings the SSSC has. The day of, my husband and I were blown away by the caliber of customer service the staff provided. Dylan was our assigned “party manager” and could not have made our lives easier. Everything from giving out cake, pizza and drinks to 30 kids, to answering every question with kindness and ease, to helping my husband load all of the presents and gear into our truck in the pouring rain, we felt like we were at a five star resort. The bartender was extremely accommodating and kind as well. Needless to say, we will definitely be celebrating more birthdays at Kids World...
