I ordered delivery from here online and when I opened the bag, the entire order was wrong. No reciept or anything inside either. And when I tried to call the restaurant...nobody answered the phone! So that left me with one choice, to go directly to the restaurant and show them in person that the order was wrong and hopefully get a refund and/or the food I asked for.
When I got there, I must have stood there at the counter, bag in hand, waiting for help for at least 10 minutes before any staff member even acknowledged me. I will give them credit, it was a busy time of day, but they didn't have to completely ignore me. As I stood there waiting, I happened to notice the conditions of the kitchen and the lack of care when it came to food handling on the line. Very little was done to prevent cross-contamination between ingredients and, in fact, the contents of the containers on the line were spilling into one another (which explained some of the unwanted ingredients that ended up in my bowl...) The staff reached into the containers with dirty gloves to grab handfuls of toppings from the line and did not change them between customers. Highly unsanitary. Completely lost my appetite and no longer wanted to get a meal, only a refund!
So after I finally got the attention of a staff member, he referred me to his manager, to whom I explained my issue. And he told me and I quote: "Sorry, we can't refund your card today, you'll have to call DoorDash and wait 7 to 10 days to get it." And then he offered me food, which I would have to PAY for out of pocket, and under the condition that I would have to wait "40 Minutes" for them to make rice because they ran out. I no longer wanted to eat, much less eat THERE, so I told him "no thanks" Even if I did still want to eat there, there was no way I was going to wait 40 minutes for it. I got the guy's card and walked out. The manager was polite enough, but clearly ineffective at his job, judging by the way things were operating in the restauarant. He needs to learn how to put things in order so mistakes like this do not happen and he needs to train his staff on better food safety.
I am never coming back here, whether I order online or not. I am disgusted by the lack of care put into the preparation of the food and the lame solutions provided by the management team...
Read moreTLDR: wrong orders, late, missing items, website told me to call for help and the store told me to do exactly what their FAQ explicitly says you cant do in that case My experiences over the last year have made me really not enjoy CAVA as much as i used to and not even because of the food quality. When we called the store about my order today they told us to cancel the already picked up order through the app. You can't cancel an order, they say it in their FAQ (which is the least helpful FAQ ever) so why would your employees tell me to do that especially when your FAQ says to call or email the store to work it out within 24 hours. How am I supposed to call or email the location manager directly if when I call the store they tell me to do something they should probably know i cant do and the company says to call the store.
I used to go all the time but around the time they switched their pitas (making them with a common allergen now when they didnt before) their quality just plummeted. Orders are consistently either missing items or made incorrectly. They cut the size of the free pita and it tastes worse. Tonight my order wasnt started until my mom went in 5 minutes after it was supposed to be done. She didnt know exactly what I ordered online so she didnt ask for the pita chips and brownie when she wasnt handed them with the rest of the order. It shouldnt be her responsibility to correct the restaurant on the order that was supposed to be completed and waiting when she got in. Sure I should have texted her and told her specifically what i got i guess and some pita chips and a brownie arent the end of the world. I was annoyed but expecting a missing item at this point, at least i can have my main bowl. They gave me the rightrice (the brand name vegetable rice thing not what i ordered), didnt give me cucumbers, and gave me corn. At least she heated my quarter of a super thin free...

Changing my review from 3 stars to 1 from two months ago. I'd give 0 if I could. No dressing given on my order & no pita crips or include pita for both orders. Asked for a bag during online checkout, NO BAG. The dressing we did get for the other bowl was a tablespoon, it didn't even fill halfway the small container given. Overall such a disappointment. Definitely going to let others know this place can't make things correctly, that's clearly put on the order slip. Got more in the bowl when we dined in last time. Portion is sad for price you pay. Probably not going to get food from here ever again.
Good selection of food. We did the make your own bowl. While waiting in long line & walking through the line and asking for the options we wanted from each staff member, some of the staff didn't seem like they wanted to be there and didn't make eye contact nor said anything. And some staff were nice and greeted us with smiles before asking what we'd like. It was very busy and hard to find seats. Some of the tables didn't have seats on opposite side. And a good amount of ppl were done eating but we're still sitting and chatting. Alot of younger ppl dining looking like they just came from the gym or were about to go with their workout outfits but had pushup bras? Lol..( if you actually go to the gym you know you don't wear a push-up bra you wear a sports bra) , had their hair done and make-up on while checking themselves out in their phones asking whoever they're with "does my hair look okay?" . Definitely certain type of vibes. Not really a family place, more younger generation place. Probably just get our food and eat else...
