VINE Apartments — Local services in Hoboken

I lived at the Vine for 1-year before work unfortunately took me out of state. I’ve been living in apartments for almost 20-years in the NY/NJ area and the Vine was one of my best experiences. The units are very functional and generally spacious relative to what you can find in the area. This is one of the few buildings in the JC/Hoboken/Weehawken area that has units that are conducive to family living.

The building itself has a great community of people. Most of the people are young couples or families are generally pretty cool. The A-hole factor is very low here. (Can’t say the same for a few of my last places). In fact, there are a lot of former residents that come back to hang out and chill at the pool/rooftop during the summer with old friends. The building management team is also pretty awesome! They are tentative, helpful, and generally great people. They are not very nosey and the building is always clean. They also throw a lot of resident events if you are into that kind of thing. They have sponsored yoga, workout sessions, boozing events, among others. I’m not usually around for those, but the ones I have attended have been very fun!

I think the building speaks for itself, but the conveniences are also worth mentioning. It is right next to the light rail which is clutch (no - you cannot hear it from the building). ShopRite is also right there, so if you are a busy family or constantly entertaining guests it is awesome having it next to the apartment. 2 of the best parks in Hoboken are also just few blocks away. We practically live at Columbus Park in the summer. There are also a ton of restaurants within walking distance. There are not too many in the immediate area, but we never had issues eating out. There are great places on 8th, 10th, 11th, Willow, and Washington which are 5-10 minute walks.

Update 2: I spoke with the building manager Wilson today (2/23/2021) and it appears he has been working behind the scenes. He was a very good listener when I told him all the problems that's been going on. I mentioned that he should push the parking software company. He said he has been doing that and will become more forceful to fix issues with the parking garage. Overall I am very happy with Wilson's response today. He seems very determined to fix the garage issues and I wish him all the best.

If you have a car and need to drive every day to work on time, then Vine simply isn’t the place for you. Vine has automated parking installed in the building. Automated machines take and deliver your car. Way too often the automated system fails and it takes longer (read 30+ mins) to bring your car. Last Monday (2/8/2021) it took nearly 45 mins to deliver my car. I had a very important career-related meeting that I missed because of this. You want to wake up early and avoid rush hour traffic? Won’t happen. I tried that. Vine parking system is so bad that I wake up every day stressed that I will be late to my meetings and work. I am not the only one. Last Monday, another tenant waited nearly 40 mins and had to call her boss that she’ll be late. Last October I nearly missed my flight because it took over 30 mins for the car to be delivered. The software fails about every other week. I have yet to meet any tenant who is positive or even neutral about the parking situation at Vine.

If you do not have to deal with car issues then Vine is the place to be.

Update: It has been two weeks (2/21/21) and I have not yet heard from the management. I called (2/8/21), emailed (2/12/21), and asked them in-person (2/15/21) to respond to this issue. I have been met...

My wife and I have been renting at the Vine for 3 months and moved into the unit without being able to see it in person; we were moving from the west coast and couldn’t make it to Hoboken due to COVID. We were extremely happy with the virtual tours and hospitality that we received from the rental team at The Vine while figuring out our living situation: They answered every question, replied to every email or voicemail, and were very upfront with us on everything.

Since we’ve been living here we love the unit, the staff have continued to be helpful and responsive, we been enjoying the building and its amenities (especially the pool and Saturday morning Rooftop yoga) and, most of all, the location. The Shop Rite across the week is huge and easy whenever you need ingredient or a ready to eat meal. Many fitness bizes, salons, boutique shops, parks and a variety of restaurants within a 10 minute walk. The waterfront park area is an incredible hang out spot and only a 15 minute walk. The light rail that can take you to many places along the Hudson River as well as to the connections to Manhattan and Newark airport. Traffic is lite around the area which makes it very pedestrian friendly. We really couldn’t be happier with finding this place while being 1000s...
