Wow, first, I have never been to a spectrum store before. I was instructed to bring my old equipment in to drop it off. That's all, just hand them my stuff. Pretty simple, I thought. Guess not. I walk in with equipment in hand, ready to hand it to them, only to be greeted by a quite hefty line. Ok, that's not a problem at all. Lines happen. I'm waiting, doing what most people do in lines, standing quietly. The three associates are helping four customers, all dressed to impress, customers included. Made me feel underdressed. They were doing stuff, having conversations. Luckily I now know plenty of places to eat on a Sunday in the area. A+. About 20 minutes later, 30 restaurants later, the line moved. I was next up. Waited a bit more. Then, another person walked in. The second this new person stepped foot in the door, like they rehearsed it so many times before, all 3 associates in unison instructed this new entity to remember to sign in to the computer to be seen. A computer hidden down a dark hallway, around a corner, down some stairs into a damp basement, inside a file cabinet with a combination lock that you need to solve three riddles to reveal the code. Just joking, it was right behind me. I just didn't see it. Beside that point, no one ever told me about it. Granted I did miss the memo that this was a black tie event, maybe that's why I was never serenaded by the three tenors as I walked in. No one will ever know. At this point, I just look like some homeless person who wandered in holding some spectrum equipment I just stole from a housed person trying to trade them for a waffle. This is the moment I realized I must do something. So I placed the equipment on the counter and ran. They probably have no clue what just happened and the police are probably out looking for me now. But, to tell you a secret. I don't feel too bad about it, because I lied. I did not do what most people do in lines. Actually, while I waited, I went to the display phones and set all their alarms to go off 5 minutes apart from each other shortly after I left....
Read moreRead moreI miss At&t because ever since we switched our server over to Spectrum its been issue after issue. They brought me used devices with "viruses" that started infecting my own expensive devices that I connected to to Spectrum's infected Service Devices (Xbox one's/ computer's). Costing me more money than I had to spend (causing more issues). The customer Service was poor. I ran out of time (waited 20 min.) So, I had to take the day off from work without pay (more issues). . Just to get them to come back to redo the first initial set up completed correctly. Less than a week my internet was down.. got shuffled from person to person on the phone. So, I took another day off from work with no pay. They came out .. This happened 5 times and still isn't working correctly! My internet goes down now once a month also. (Improvement from every other day to once a week to once a month now). They explained to me that is because I spend so much time on my internet and it doesn't get to update the new virus updates from the main system.. unless I shut down and unplug (to reset) the modem and other devices. *Really it's my fault?! I wish I never left At&t because spectrum internet connection isn't faster if you have as many devices as we do connected.. (the whole reason I was excited about switching services providers). At least with At&t I never had issues. Faulty equipment with viruses infecting my brand new equipment. Down time and lost wages.. The connection might not Adam's dentist fast but I never had issues with freezing or losing connections while I was in a game on the Xbox or online on the computer. You thinking about switching to Spectrum and already have AT&T I strongly suggest to you to think hard before doing so I really wish I would have listened to my mother who said "you're not going to like it"! Good Luck in...
DO NOT SHOP HERE! I'm a fairly reasonable guy most the times don't get me wrong. But how this store/customer service is/acts is outright ridiculous.
Let me explain:
I purchased my grandmothers home and due to some health concerns with her, she decided to continue to live us. After looking at my options through them I had called in before ordering anything and asked if we could transfer her landline to my account as most her doctors, friends, etc... are linked to this number. She's elderly and has a tough time with technology so I wanted to make the transition easy for her. Customer service said this was doable. So I continued.
Fast forward to the service I got, they had told me I needed to get a new modem at my local store and pick it up. I headed to the store only to find out I couldn't proceed because they got my identity wrong and since the name on the account didn't match we couldn't proceed. The name they had wasn't even remotely close and day 1 it was already a nightmare. Fast forward to yesterday, I called back after 1 week like customer told me to as the number hadn't ported yet. Come to find out, wasn't even an option the entire time. I was told there was a ticket open for it, there wasn't, my name was inputted wrong into the system so I couldn't edit my account, and then on top of that they charge me full price and don't even honor the new 2 year customer promotion.
My grandmother was with them for over 15 years, and every couple of months we've always had issues with them.
Long story short, if you wanna spend a ton of money, have horrendous customer service and not be treated like a valued customer shop here.
As a digital marketer, this type of behavior is straight unacceptable and unprofessional. Please West Michigan, save the time and money and go...
