My wife and I both love to shop at the Meijers on 16th in Holland. Its a beautiful store carrying some products I haven't seen before. The problem is the pharmacy. Don't get me wrong; they're very professional and knowledgeable when you're at the counter. But if you call the pharmacy, more often than not, they seem a little irritated if you have a special request for your prescription; like getting your 90 day order converted to a 30 day supply, which we have requested of them many times. We use GoodRx and Priority Health, and we ask for the cheapest one. My wife and I go without our meds sometimes because we don't have enough money, so getting the cheapest price is absolutely vital to us. Your pharmacy staff are very good at what they do, and they're always busy. We don't mean to be a thorn in their side, but sometimes we feel they would rather be doing something else than trying to help us find a better price. We will still continue to shop there because we like the rest of the store, but are considering moving our Rx's somewhere else. We don't want to do that because it's very convenient for us to get everything in one place, except for insulin. Your insulin prices are at least 7 times higher than I can get it at a different store. Like I said, we don't want to cause any flak for anyone, and I don't want to transfer my Rx's to another pharmacy, but we need to be respected, on the phone and at the counter, and not like we're trying to increase...
Read moreThis is a poorly ran Meijer. It says it's open until 12am, but if you go there after 10pm you can barely shop. They are so many pallets everywhere and you can barely get past all the stuff to shop. And then they block off full sections. Why say you are open until 12 am but you don't allow people to shop after a certain time. And the late night employees are so rude and not helpful at all. If you have a question, they just ignore you, and act bothered that you are there. I guess they aren't smart enough to understand that the money i spend there and other customers is how they have a job and get paid. The sad thing is, late night is the only time I'm able to shop most times. I work 7 days a week, 10 to 12hrs a day, and I have to drive an hour to and from work. I haven't had a day off since August so my time to shop is limited. So I usually go after work, which I get off at 1030pm. I'm usually in and out of there in 20 minutes, well before they actually close, but I'm met with rude employees and obstacles in my way all the time. Tonight I couldn't even get a loaf of bread for my sandwiches for lunch because they had the whole area taped off to polish the floors, but nobody was even working the machines they were just standing around talking to each other. Just a poorly ran place. If they don't want you to shop until 12am, they should just...
Read moreMy comments are about the Deli section at the Meijers off Riley and 31. I have been here many times and have mostly had a bad experience. I feel there is a management problem here in that most of the workers do not seem to be trained well in standard sanitary procedures, and in the fine art of slicing lunch meat. Compared to the Meijers on 16th street, and virtually all the other grocery stores in town, the workers here are not prepared to give good service. They do not understand why gloves are required to be used to handle meats. They use the same gloves for many customers. They leave their gloves on after picking meat off the floor, after wiping things off the machines, after opening the cold storage doors, etc. It is just so stupid. As far as slicing lunch meat, yesterday I ordered an expensive brand of turkey breast. The worker sliced a pound and let it all fall where it may, even on parts of the machine not protected by a sheet of paper. Then she just grabbed the whole pile in smushed it together and shoved it into a plastic bag. All other deli counters in town neatly stack the slices and present it to the customer in a way that can be used easily at home. Again, just stupid and non caring. It is a management problem - these people are not being trained...
