Hopewell Community Center — Local services in Hopewell

6/1/22: My son is a member along with his dad. They decided to go swimming around 9:30 am & the lady at the desk told me that I couldn't go inside the pool area to watch my son because I wasn't a member. I had to remain in the hallway at the table watching them through the glass.

He had a lot of fun & they had several school buses of children using the pool today also. It wasn't very crowded even with all those extra kids.

Their facility is clean (the front desk area and pool are all I saw). The front desk lady wasn't the friendliest, but I let it go after I saw how much fun my baby was having in the pool. Their hours are weird & they close way too early. So, call them before driving there to make sure they are open. The pool goes to 10 feet too.

Skatepark: I took my 3 kids there yesterday. It was in a terrible part of town and we were harassed by local vagrants. I had to keep a close watch on our stuff because I felt like someone was going to take off with our things if left unsupervised. The ramps were metal and the pavement was clear, but the rails were old and rusted so they didn't slide. Local children from the area who were not skating crowded the ramps and were not polite to others trying to enjoy the park. We will not be returning because we did not feel safe...

My rating is based up on kids activities , memberships and events. Normally when calling it’s easy for them to help you out if they aren’t busy. Some people would help out with more information than others. In person they will take care if you almost immediately and explain things to you. Facility seems very clean and organized.
