Up until July 30, 2020 we have always had a positive experience shopping and buying furniture from Hanks Fine Furniture in Hot Springs, Arkansas. In the past year we have purchased a beautiful king size bedroom suite, a kings down king size mattress and zero gravity bed frame, two king size healthy sleep pillows, two electric recliners and a king size box springs. Unfortunately, our most recent purchase of a beautiful oak table and captains chairs will be the last purchase from Hanks Fine Furniture, as the items discussed prior to the purchase were not the items we received at the time of delivery. In an effort to cure what I believed to be a simple misunderstanding, I contacted the Hot Springs store. Unfortunately, the salesman “misspoke” and what we negotiated in a previous purchase was not honored. I have spent a lot of money with this store in the past year. I found that my loyal purchases apparently mean nothing. I tried to give on my end to cure this issue by offering to remove the protection plan from my purchase in an effort to cure the missing piece negotiated, but to no avail. The only offer to cure this issue was to pay a significantly higher amount to obtain the piece or return the table. I understand that a business is open to make money, but in my book you should honor your word, even if you “misspoke”. I wish...
Read moreThe furniture quality is acceptable; unfortunately customer service and wait for furniture is shameful. We purchased a sofa, recliner, and coffee table from the Hot Springs location on March 5. Our sofa was delivered, as verbally promised on March 10, after several conversations with the store and William Green the sales associate. Our recliner was verbally promised around "March 15" at the latest. Today, March 19, we phoned to learn if we could pick up our recliner and were informed it will not be at their location until March 24. William Green is a clever salesman as he has skill and charm to convince customers he's "on their side" and he want to make sure the "get what they want when they need it". Additionally, he's learned the tactic of only making verbal promises while carefully avoiding putting details of a date on the sales receipt. He includes vague terms such as "mid month" and "couple weeks". I've purchased furniture from Hanks in larger metropolitan areas and not had to deal with shady sales tactics. I discovered that although we are only 1 hour away from numerous competitors it makes a difference. I will not purchase another item from the Hot Springs location. I learned that in the future, the 1-hour drive is much less bothersome than tolerating...
Read morePurchased a twin bed and night stand and paid in full. Jim Helms was the person that took the order and thanked us for our business and that the furniture will be in around 3 weeks. Once the furniture was suppose to arrive I get a call from Jim saying the vendor they work with will not fulfill the order. He offered the full bed that was on the floor at what we had paid. He said it was more than what we paid but would do that to make it right. I asked if the mattress was included with it that was with the floor model since we only have twin mattresses and said no that’s a separate purchase. The full bed was only $200 more and after I bought the mattresses for the full it would have cost more in the end. Definitely seemed like bait and switch. If Jim would have let us know sooner that the vendor they used weren’t fulfilling orders we could have found a replacement with ease and wouldn’t have to wait three to four weeks additional for the new one. Why even have it as an option in the store anyways. Would not recommend Hanks Furniture in Hot Springs as you don’t know if the vendors they use will...
