This place marks up their designer clothes by as much as 56%. I found the Mikah tunic by Johnny Was in their store. I checked the price on the M and L - $210. I ended up getting an XL, checked the price on that ticket as well - $210. When I arrived home and looked at the receipt, I had been charged $328 for the blouse. I confirmed that I hadn't misread the tag. I had not $210. So I called the store. I spoke with Deanna one of the sisters that owns it and she said that they were told they had to mark the shirts up and that the XL had not been marked. I explained that all of the other sizes listed the price at 210 as well. She said the other stickers must have come off but that was not accurate. She said she would refund the 118 difference and I told her no that I would return the shirt and expected a full refund because this was misleading and deceptive at best. She did refund my money but try to explain the entire time that it was the manufacturer, (Johnny Was) who determined the price point. 56% is a HUGE mark-up. I get that they need to turn a profit, but that is ridiculous. This boutique is located in Cypress, Texas, near subdivisions and biketrails. This isn't the French Reviera, this isn't Rodeo Drive. I would think any woman that was told the clothes at Splash of Sass were 56% more expensive than other stores, would wisely choose to shop elsewhere I certainly cannot afford a 56% markup on a blouse. I went online and purchased the same blouse from Johnny Was' website, and got a 20% discount so instead of paying $210, I got it for $181. Please AVOID Splash of Sass. Taking advantage of hard working middle class folks shouldn't...
Read moreHad a not so pleasant experience as the owner, Sherry, racially profiled my family and I since we’re minorities. D’Ann stood by and did nothing. Upon trying on outfits, the owner walks over and proceeds to say “Go take those dresses off! Those are $150 dresses. Those aren’t even your sizes, we only carry old lady sizes.” Completely rude, embarrassing and inconsiderate. The sad thing is we were ready to purchase until that interaction. She felt the need to mention the price as if we could not afford that, but in addition, not once did she say anything to the white customers. Not only will we not ever shop here, but I will communicate my experience with the proper chamber of commerce, Hispanic chamber of commerce, BBB, and Texas Attorney General. This should not happen to anyone. You don’t have to take my word for it, but please don’t let her treat you with such disrespect! Hopefully she will learn...
