14 years purchasing from this facility and they have taken my money and not delivered 2 items. I call to place a large order as per usual. Two items owed to me is 11.50 I asked to swap the two items and just send me an order of pork dumpling which is 6.50. NO, NO, NO! We are giving it to you for “free” and it has to be the some items that were charged but not delivered. How can you say free when you charged me the items before but didn’t deliver? I paid for this in my previous order and you did not give me my money back or my items. Which means I paid for them but you kept them… I thought Asians were suppose to be good with math :/ Long and short they refused to give me my money back for items I paid that weren’t delivered and she insured she would give them to me for “free” after placing another order. So I said “if you send me pork dumplings instead of the other items I’ll be happy which means you will have kept 5$ so I’m losing money which means you’re making more money”. She responded “we aren’t making any money because we are giving them to you for free”. Again, “how is it free if you have already charged them to me but never delivered”? “It’s free because we aren’t charging it this time”.
I am absolutely shocked at ignorance level in this establishment. Genuinely jaw dropped in disbelief. Lord help us and catch us without sin when these people are driving around. If simple math is this complicated I would hate to catch them...
Read moreBefore our experience tonight, I would have given this place 5 Stars. Instead of going in like we usually do, we decided to have it delivered tonight. I ordered what I always do: Vegetable moo shu with white rice. My only complaint before tonight was that their crepes taste like they’ve been sitting open in the fridge for a week. Fortunately, their menu states it comes with 4 crepes OR steamed rice. Not once when I’ve ordered it with rice have I been told that the thick sauce that comes on the side is ONLY included if you order the crepes.
When it was delivered tonight, it was missing that sauce. My husband called the restaurant and the woman he spoke to said they would have someone bring it out. Less than a minute later, a man named Sam called back and said that the sauce was not included because I chose rice instead of the crepes. He insisted that this is how it has always been, despite the fact that I have never had that problem before. He absolutely refused to make it right.
This was our go-to Chinese restaurant that we usually eat at a few times a month. We will not be returning, solely based on how Sam handled it. There is a great place off Kuykendahl (with fresh tasting crepes) that is further away, but is worth the drive and will be...
Read moreHunan River Bistro was once a decent Chinese restaurant.
After being seated my son and I waited 10 minutes before we were asked about something to drink. (Note one of the hostess ask for drinks and delivered) We then waited 6 minutes after our drinks were delivered, for our order. My son waited 20 minutes for a lunch special, I waited ten more minutes before I decided to leave. As I was paying when my food finally made it out. I just left after paying the bill.
First rule when serving food do not serve on person at the table and wait 10 minutes. To bring out the other guests food.
Second rule don’t serve stale food leftover from the night before. (Fried Noodles as appetizer)
Third rule don’t make your customers ask for refills on drinks.
As a restaurant have more than one server, you don’t need two hostess. Don’t tell me my meal takes longer, it’s not my first time at Hunan River Bistro order the same meal. You forgot about my son and I, don’t tell you are busy.
I will no longer eat at Hunan River Bistro, I will not recommend Hunan River Bistro
I wonder what other tasks Hunan River Bistro is not performing correctly due to being...
