Iâm not someone who normally leaves reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience in this caseânot to be unkind, but to offer constructive feedback that I hope the management at Coma Salon will find helpful.
Let me begin by saying that the salon itself is absolutely beautiful. The staff I encountered initially were warm and professional, and the stylist I consulted with about getting a new set of extensions was lovely. We discussed a plan for my color and cut, and I placed a deposit of $949 toward the service, scheduled for approx two weeks later.
On the day of the appointmentâa TuesdayâI had rearranged my work schedule and taken the entire day off in anticipation. I was genuinely excited. At 9:36 am, just before I was due to leave for my 10:00 am appointment , I received a phone call from the receptionist, who informed me that my hair hadnât arrived and asked if I could reschedule for Thursday. I was shocked. I asked how this could be possible after two weeks, and she said, âSomeone else used your hair.â
She was very apologetic and clearly trying to problem-solve. She mentioned that there was hair in my color available, but not enough for a full installâand more importantly, it was shorter than what I had ordered. Anyone who gets extensions knows that going shorter is not an option. I asked if I could simply receive a refund, and she assured me that should be no problem, though it couldnât be processed immediately. Later that day, she followed up to confirm that my refund had been issued. I appreciated that.
That said, I believe there are several areas that deserve attention:
Last-minute cancellations are unacceptable Calling a client 10 minutes before an appointment to say their product is unavailableâespecially for a service in the $2,500â$3,000 rangeâis simply not acceptable. This is not a discount salon, and such late notice does not respect your clientâs time or planning. While I understand the salon is closed on Mondays, this issue should have been caught by Saturday at the latest. Lack of ownership from the stylist. At no point did my stylist reach out to personally apologize. The receptionist was left to handle everything. While I understand that the front desk manages scheduling, the stylist-client relationship is what drives return businessâespecially for high-maintenance services like extensions. A simple call from the stylist would have made a world of difference. Extensions are a long-term commitmentâand revenue stream. This wasnât a one-off appointment. I was told the reinstall cost would be $450 every two months, not including color, or tip. So weâre talking about a recurring customer spending thousands annually. From a business perspective, itâs short-sighted to jeopardize that relationship over something that couldâve been easily avoided or better handled. No gesture of goodwill was offered. Mistakes happen. But what separates great businesses from average ones is how they respond when they do. Offering somethingâa small discount, a complimentary service, or even a productâgoes a long way in maintaining trust and goodwill. Unfortunately, that didnât happen here.
I hope this feedback is taken in the spirit itâs intended: as a suggestion for improvement. This salon has so much potential and clearly talented staff, but I believe a little more attention to customer experienceâparticularly for high-ticket, recurring servicesâcould elevate it even further.

My recent visit to Coma Hair Salon was nothing short of magical. From the moment I stepped inside, I felt like I had entered a serene oasis dedicated to hair transformation. Let me share why this salon deserves all the praise:
Professional Mastery: The staff at Coma are true professionals. Their expertise is evident in every snip, every brushstroke. My stylist,, Gabe and his team, are not just a hairdressers; they are artists that not only care about how you look but also the health of your hair. They listened attentively to my hair goals and then worked her magic. The precision of Gabeâs cuts and the finesse of styling with assistance of the team approach left me in awe.
Creative Vision: Coma is where creativity flourishes. The stylists here don't just follow trends; they set them. Whether it's a daring color transformation, a chic bob, or intricate braids and even a perm for a boy wanting to look âtoo cool for school,â they approach each client's hair as a canvas. Gabe suggested a new hair treatment and Iâm always a little skeptical of the add ons but they explained every step of the process but more than that, had me feel my hair throughout the stages so I could feel the transformation myself. My hair has never looked and felt so healthy and shiny.
Blissful Retreat: The salon's ambiance is pure relaxation. From the music in the background to the plush chairs and most comfortable shampoo chair/sink Iâve ever experienced all create an escape from the outside world. As they worked on my hair, I felt the stress melt away. It was more than a haircut; it was a rejuvenating afternoon. I left with not only beautiful hair but also a renewed spirit.
Radiant Results: And now, the revealâthe mirror showed a transformed version of me. My hair had never looked better. I was in need of an update from my very long, unmanageable style and I now have beautiful layers that frame my face elegantly, and the blowout and styling was red-carpet-worthy. It is also styling they taught me to do myself easily at home. Coma uses top-quality products, and it shows. I received compliments from friends co-workers and strangers alike.
Stellar Service: The entire teamâfrom the friendly receptionist to the skilled shampoo assistantâmade me feel like a VIP. They pampered me throughout my visit, ensuring I had everything I needed. It's rare to find such genuine warmth in a salon, and Coma nails it.
In summary, Coma Hair Salon is more than a place to get your hair done; it's an experience. If you're seeking professional expertise, creative flair, and a relaxing escape, book your appointment at Coma. Trust meâyou'll leave feeling like a star!
