No communication and or explanation what so ever. Appointments run longer here because there are only 2 officers apparently, and not taking walk-ins so an appointment is apparently a must.
Parking is ridiculous have an Uber instead of trying to figure out which terminal is going to be open because even if you park at different terminal your shuttle WILL NOT take out to terminal E which is where the office is at. We are expecting and it was a nightmare - had to walk so much and wait for shuttles because of how unorganized it all is. When arriving to the office you are told to wait outside until an officer comes out every 15-20 minutes or so. Around lunch time it’s obviously longer but there were many people here and it’s not an easy feat, do yourself a favor, take the whole day off work, arrive 45 minutes ahead of time at the minimum. I arrived at airport “early” and with all the rerouting and construction It look me 45 minutes to finally get to the office because of the limitations and imagine being pregnant and trying to rush.
There was hardly any communication from the program, and no check in process so you are just going to sit around.
I don’t know why they didn’t improve process as well while improving airport. From what I’m told it is no longer worth getting global entry especially with the new Mobile Passport Control app (from CPB government) that is free and often times a lot faster than global...
Read moreName change - They accept walk-ins Mon-Fri (8-2). I arrived at 730 because parking was not difficult and I did not have to take a shuttle.
Name change pro tip: When they ask if anyone is a walk-in, you’ll say yes - but say it’s for a name change (not new global entry). “Their first suggestion for walk-ins is make an appointment online now for first available, then I’ll be back for you.” But for name changes, you can’t make an appointment online.
Parking: enter garage, straight to 5th floor since the rest are for valet, turn left toward Terminal D/E. Park as close to the end as possible for the elevator to D/E. Take elevator to 1 - Arrivals. Exiting the garage by foot, you’ll see these colorful pillars. Use crosswalk. Enter Door E103. Walk straight. Can’t miss it. Wait in the chairs til the guard comes out every 10-15 mins. Again, where I parked compared to location of office - convenient.
Name change process: They take your passport with new name and global entry card with old name. You stay in the seating area. They verified mine in less than 5 minutes, and returned my passport and card. Existing card is still valid. You can pay for a replacement online or wait until renewal for a new card that reflects your...
Read moreThis is a shameful operation, even by government standards. First, the global entry office is not at the airport as represented. You need to go to 15109 Heathrow Forest Parkway 77032. Once there, be prepared. You are required to wait in the building hallway as the office is locked. Eventually a tiny man in a dark uniform who has just discovered someone pissed in his cereal this morning will emerge espousing unintelligibly. The subsequent manner in which I saw this replica of a human treat the customers was reprehensible. He exemplified the epitome of everything bad the government stands for. There is no valid excuse anyone could conjure that would justify why this person is allowed to interface with the taxpayers while representing the federal government. I noticed there are prior complaints about this person in other reviews. I can only assume this is continuing due to a lack of supervision. So just be prepared for a distasteful and...
