I went into the salon to get a sew in or extensions. My original appointment was with Shenita. Shanita called me in and had another person to wash my hair and prep it as she worked on another person head. I asked out of curiousity if another person maybe able to pitch in and work on my hair being that Shanita had another appointment at 6 and the time was approaching —why did I do this she became irate and threw my weave cap on and set me under the dryer. I asked Shanita after 30-45 min of being left under the dryer if she would have time to do my hair as she laughed with the other client about the conversation they had about me. Shanita became very unprofessional and begin to exchange words with me about me asking her colleague to help out with my hair. She asked what did I do for a living I informed her that I am a criminal Justice major—she then said that I would never make the amount of money she made as a stylist and laughed at me. Things then escalated where her client got out of the seat after threatening to slap me and told me due to my weight I would not be able to breath. Shanita then stopped her as they began to discuss me while I was still sitting at the salon. Her last words to me was “your life is in danger “ I thought nothing of it I told her I am disabled and I’ll do whatever necessary to protect myself—as I should . I had the previous stylist my Janice to take my braids down and decided I’d leave to avoid conflict—where I was greeted outside by 3 of her brothers that came to handle the situation “me”. After I explained what had happened to them the then implied as if they understood by now here I am disabled with anxiety looking over my shoulders because she’d actually called her male brothers to come and get on me. I am disguised by the way things went especially being that I came to spend over $300 for the hairstyle I chosen and it turned into a hot ghetto brawl that was avoidable. Ms Jennis is a sweetheart but Shanita has no personality, customer service , or professionalism and a will be moving forward to pursue whatever legal against for being slandered and confronted by her brothers along with the the threat that my life is in danger” do not go to this salon it is very unprofessional and your hair maybe decent but you will have an unprofessional experience . Even her client got up to slap me, they even made fun of my disability that I informed them of by calling me retarted. There is no heart nor hall of fame at this hair salon. Lastly what hearts the most is that Shanita told me that as a criminal Justice major I’ll never make cosmetology money—-and I am passionate about my dreams so...
