The first thing you think about franchise Louisiana style fried chicken is one of the big chain named Popeye's. However, this place may also be a chain, but the food and especially the chicken is definitely better than Popeye's by a long stretch. I met up with a few friends to try out this place as some of them were craving fried chicken but where as I was just simply hungry and I could eat anything. By the time I got there, they already ordered family meal style with fried chickens, fried fish, fried onion rings, the rice, fries, and bread.
The food came out pretty quick and it was definitely straight out of fryer because when we open the box of chickens, the steam gush out and each piece was definitely still hot for your hands to cuddle with. Then again, why would you even cuddle a piece of fried chicken? As Louisiana food is known for spiciness, the seasoning of the batter for these chicken is definitely has a small kick to it. But the good thing is that the chicken meat itself is still juicy and hot. It definitely goes great with the crispy spicy skin.
The next best thing is definitely the fried fish. The fish batter is crispy and the meat is soft and moist. Dipping that hot piece of fish into the tartar sauce makes it even more flavorful. For the sides, the rice is good but the onion rings are not. You can definitely skip out on that. The fries were average. I would definitely come back here for some fried chicken and you should definitely check it out also. They also have late night drive through on the weekends until 3AM (Friday &...
Read moreI had an extremely disappointing experience at this place. Despite calling 25 minutes ahead to have my meal prepared, I was met with rudeness and poor service. The person who took my call rudely informed me that I should have called only 5 minutes before arriving. Despite this, my food was not ready when I arrived.
To make matters worse, the meal I ordered, the manager's special, had a bitter taste and was not enjoyable. Additionally, when I requested a cold Coke, the staff member refused to change it, stating that the weather was hot outside so it didn't need to be cold. This level of unprofessionalism and lack of basic customer service is unacceptable.
Overall, my experience was very negative. The combination of poor customer service and subpar food quality means I will not be returning to this restaurant . I hope the management takes these issues seriously and works to improve their...
Read moreTried the new Bases Burgers Fries & Drink inside Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken & Seafood—today was their first day offering burgers, and they’re off to a great start!
If you’re into simple, no-frills, well-seasoned burgers, this is the spot. I had the Home Run combo (single cheeseburger, fries, and Barq’s Root Beer), and my partner had the Double Play with cheese (double cheeseburger, fries, and lemonade). Both were delicious, and the fries were hot and crispy.
We joked that a “Home Run” should’ve been four patties, but honestly, one patty was plenty satisfying. Great flavor, great value.
What’s even better is now we don’t have to choose between fried chicken and burgers—this place has both! The manager even checked on us personally and thanked us for visiting, which was a nice touch.
Highly recommend...
