I had approximately 1500sf of turf installed about 3.5 to 4 years ago, in the summer of 2021. We were very pleased with the results. Chad was excellent to work with at that time….very motivated to get the job completed. After that amount of time some maintenance was needed. I contacted Chad on February 13, 2025, two months prior to my daughter’s bridal shower which was April 13, 2025 requesting to be placed on his schedule for some maintenance, ie, fresh crushed granite along the fence perimeter, replacement of a couple of cracked pavers and some fill in of areas of erosion. I emailed, texted and spoke to Chad about 6-7 times. I sent videos and photos detailing the work needed. I was met with 2 months of empty promises and 2 no show appointments. The first no show was due to weather the days prior to my appointment. He never reached out to say they were running behind and wouldn’t be coming that day after we pretty much waited around all day in expectation of their arrival. I called him to find out if they were still coming and was met with a promise of a second appointment which they just apparently ignored. I have yet to hear anything from Chad after that no show appointment. One week before my event I contacted a second company who were quick to respond and help. They corrected the erosion issues (installing bender board which was not done with the initial install), leveled uneven pavers and replaced the cracked ones. They pulled up the turf and added material to level out the erosion issues from the initial install and replenished the crushed granite along the fence perimeter. It looks great! I have recommended Houston Fake Grass on a few occasions since I was pleased with my install. I will NOT be recommending Chad and Houston Fake Grass in the future. Communication and performance were good with the initial install but I felt like he didn’t want to be bothered with a maintenance job and was just hoping I would go away and leave him to all of this new projects. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I gave Chad plenty of time to come fix and address the mistakes on the turf issues and I was constantly put off multiple times and even given the excuse of his father passing away. I paid $18,600 which is a lot of money. I told him contact me when he is back at work which he never did. The turf was fine when it was first done but now I’m seeing flaw after flaw which he does not want to address. He is quick to take payment but slow to address anything after the work is finished and moved on to another job. I have weeds popping up all over my yard through the turf, I have lines in my turf which he stated would go away. One area is changing to a brown color. I was never given any warranty paperwork or proof of what type of turf I purchased. It’s just word of mouth. One day when I did get in contact with him he told me it would be 3 months before he could get back to my house to fix an issue. The customer service is awesome before you pay but once you truly start to see how your turf is and weeds popping through turf and spaces you will reconsider. I had another company come out and they showed me the issues with my turf and what was done wrong. Once I emailed this to whoever this Karen lady is they wanted to come out and fix it. This was an expensive mistake and now they want to try and fix it after I have sent screen shots of Chad blowing me off and requested half of my money back. Do not use this company it’s so many red flags. I get pissed off just thinking about how much money I spent only to be ignore and told “3 months cause we are so booked up”. The price per sq ft is low compared to other companies and it’s a reason why. You get what you pay for. Do your homework before going through these people. There is a lack of knowledge for what they are doing. I can’t post videos on here cause I have a video of my turf loaded with weeds. I recently had the pleasure of working with Houston Fake Grass, and I am happy with the results! I first contacted them based on a referral from a friend, Kyle Tweedie, who had a great experience with Chad Rejsek (owner) and his team. After giving Chad a call on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025, I briefly explained my project: removing the natural grass from my backyard and replacing it with turf. We quickly scheduled an in-person quote for Saturday, April 5th.

Chad showed up right on time along with his girlfriend and Project Coordinator, Karen Bohrman. They carefully measured my backyard, confirming it was 1,250 square feet. Later that same day, they sent over a detailed quote. After reviewing everything over the next few days, I signed the contract and placed a deposit for half the total cost.

Originally, we were scheduled for installation on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025. However, with rain in the forecast, Karen proactively reached out by email to reschedule for Monday, April 28th — excellent communication throughout. On installation day, Chad arrived with a large, hardworking crew, and they got straight to work. They carefully located and flagged all my sprinkler heads, removed all the existing grass, laid down crushed granite for a solid base, installed a weed tarp, and then laid the turf perfectly. They finished the project by spreading sand infill over the turf to help with drainage. The entire installation took about a full day, from 9:15 AM to 4:45 PM.

After they finished, I walked the entire yard — and it looked fantastic. The attention to detail was clear, and the quality of the installation was top-notch. I’m happy with how the project turned out and excited that my toddler now has a fun, safe place to play.
