I had a very disappointing experience at Jewelers Bench recently. I purchased a brand new ring that had to be sized down by only one half size and was told there would be a charge of over $100 for this service. Having previously bought jewelry at some of the most reputable jewelry stores in the industry, this was a first, but I paid for the slight down size of my ring because I wanted to patronize a local business. However, when I returned to pick up my ring, I heard another customer being told that the first sizing (up-sizing) of her new ring would be free, as always. Obviously, I was shocked to hear this and asked why I was charged for my ring sizing. At first, the two representatives working the counter tried to make excuses for why I was charged, but none of their "reasons", such as a dramatic up-size, for example, applied to me. And, an excuse that maybe the sales lady who sold me the ring was new and didn't know the policy wouldn't apply either as it was the same representative who served me over six months before. Further, since the store is small and was empty when I made my purchase, all of the other associates could hear our discussion and could have corrected the "mistake" as it happened if they had chosen to. Eventually, a jeweler was called from the back to assist who reluctantly admitted that I should not have been charged and refunded me saying that she would find out what happened and why I was incorrectly charged. As a return customer, I immediately wondered what other services I may have been overcharged for in the past and regret ever coming to this store. I do not expect to feel like I'm dealing with dishonest used car salesmen, lying and treating one customer different from another, when I'm shopping for jewelry. I will not be returning to this store for any future purchases or services as they can...
Read moreThis was my second visit to this shop. During my first visit, I brought in my GIA-certified diamond to have it checked. They examined it and confidently told me, “It’s a lab-created diamond because it’s too perfect to be natural.” I was shocked and thought I had been scammed by the jewelry store where I purchased it. At the time, I didn’t doubt their professionalism. For my second visit, my fiancé brought in his family’s 100-year-old, 5-carat diamond. Here’s where the situation became laughable: they took a quick glance at it and told him, “Sorry, this isn’t a real diamond. We don’t know what it is.” My fiancé was stunned because he has both an appraisal from 1980 and the original receipt from 1920. He insisted that they use proper equipment because it seemed clear they had never seen an antique cut diamond before. After using their machine, the staff reluctantly admitted, “Oh, it is a real diamond.”
What really upset me wasn’t just their lack of expertise—it was their rude and dismissive attitude. The way the staff spoke to my fiancé, in front of me no less, was unprofessional and insulting. It wouldn’t have taken much effort to double-check with the equipment from the start, yet they chose to make assumptions and undermine him instead. Their behavior showed a complete lack of emotional intelligence and respect. It’s one thing to make a mistake, but their attitude made the experience...

At first I liked them. They resized my engagement ring and it was really a quick job. My friends told me it was over priced but I figured you pay for the quality of work you want done. I was so excited that I would be able to wear my ring since we would be going on a cruise in a few weeks. On the cruise my ring broke and I lost a diamond in it. When I returned to the store i dropped it off and was told I shouldn’t have worn the ring on a cruise since it had just been sized that the different humidity is what caused the ring to break. However they said they would look at it and give me a call. The next day when they called they said that my ring was un repairable but I could purchase a new band and they would be able to put the stones from my band in it. So she showed me two different bands. I said well I will talk to my fiancé and see what he says.
We went to another shop and found out that everything I was told was not true that the humidity on the cruise is not what caused the ring to break and it was absolutely repairable. I now am wearing my ring and it is complete!! I’m so glad I didn’t trust just what they were telling me.
If you use this place for repairs get a different opinion first. Don’t just settle with them. I planned on buying all our wedding bands here but not now!!...
