Called on a Thursday to see about scheduling a consultation appointment. The first woman I spoke to was very nice, and did all she could to help me schedule. We agreed upon a 4:00pm appointment the very next day. I explained to her that with the profession I am in, I was a bit worried I wouldn't make it in time. She assured me that it was fine and if i had any time issues, to just call and let them know and they will try to push my appointment a little further back. I told her thank you and I really appreciate all the help. Fast forward to today ( appointment day) and I called around 3:30 is to let them know I was about to leave work, but traffic was very heavy and I didn't think I could be there for 4:00. This time I spoke with a man, and he told me it's no problem that we could push my appointment to 4:55. I said thank you very much and that I would be there as soon as I can. He told me to drive safe! As I was on my way, traffic was extremely heavy and my ETA wasn't going to be until 4:55pm. Knowing the stylist leaves at 5pm I tried to call to tell them I wouldn't be able to make it. I called 2 times before leaving a voice-mail informing them that I wasn't going to be able to make it. I also called 2 more times AFTER leaving the voice-mail to try and reach them just in case they didn't listen to the voice-mail so the stylist wouldn't be just waiting for me. ( I also live about 5 minutes away from the salon) as soon as I got home (@5pm) I get a call from the salon. It's the same man I had spoke to. As soon as I picked up he said hello and introduced himself, and I explained to give that I had just got home, and lived about 5 minutes away so I was sorry I didn't keep it. He then asked me in a rude way " Well what time will you be getting here because your stylist is just here waiting for you?" I felt a little shocked at his tone, and told him that I had tried to call multiple times and even left a voice mail letting them know I wasn't going to make it in time. I was going to try and schedule for another day, but he immediately rushed off the phone with me not even offering me another opportunity to schedule. I felt as though I had did something wrong even though I did my best to keep the appointment time and give them proper notice. I was looking forward to getting my hair done as the reviews were so wonderful. But now I feel to embarrassed to even...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been here twice for color -- once for roots, and once for highlights. No luck.
I saw Michelle first. She's okay. Talks a lot and fast, and sometimes contradicts herself. She told me, "I can for sure match your natural color." But then when I returned, she explained how that was impossible to do. I could tell that she was annoyed. Not a good feeling. But she seemed to know what she was talking about once she slowed down. A bit distracted and condescending at times.
Saw Reyna next for highlights. It took four hours. I wanted the lighter areas to be around the face and at the ends. I specifically told her I did NOT want them to start at the root ā but that's exactly what she did. I'm so frustrated. I wanted variation. She said there would be, but my hair looks the same from root to tip. Zero contrast, zero life, zero style. It does not look natural; giving early 2000s vibes. I paid $300 for highlights that look completely drab (and an ugly orange color). What is worse, to avoid this from happening, I specifically showed her pictures of highlights I had years ago that I liked. She hurried through them and kept saying, "too light, too light." However, I was drawing attention not to the color so much, but to the balayage face-frame technique. She didnāt even ask what about the pictures I liked or wanted. Not sure she even realized it was me. :/ Her rejection of the hair I liked made me feel ashamed of the highlights I used to have, and if she auto-applied the highlighting technique she was most comfortable performing on me due to lack of skill to execute my requested design. I have less confidence now that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came here today as a first time customer. I wanted a shampoo and a deep conditioner treatment, ( I scheduled a last minute appointment and they were very accommodating), but they were all booked up for styling. Which is understandable. I have kinky curly textured hair and they easily processed my treatment, I only mention this because I've been to other salons before and felt like my texture of hair wasn't their preference. I didn't feel like that here, they made me feel very comfortable and welcomed. Now to the good part, the salon's atmosphere is inviting a well thought out design. You are offered an assortment of beverages when you arrive and there aren't long waits for your services. The shampoo bowl area sets a relaxing tone, the chairs are recliners and really comfortable. Not only did I received a thorough washing they also provide complementary hand massages! After my service, my hair felt incredible, I just had to purchase the hair mask.
I would also like to note the reason for my service was because I had just got out of the hospital and couldn't wash my hair myself, so my husband kindly looked up a few salons and we choose this one. They didn't know this but it was really hard for me to walk without labored breathing. So washing my hair would have been difficult for me today. I did have to style my hair in a wet ponytail before I left, but my hair was clean, conditioned and I felt ten times better.
I can't really speak to their styling that's why I rated them a 4, but their customer service and the lady that washed my hair are...
