This was the closest place to me that processed deer meat, so I went in with the meat in a cooler on ice to have it processed. It was busy with breakfast taco customers so I patiently waited. I did not get her name, but a middle aged Mexican woman behind the counter was not happy at all when I said I had a deer to process. This was my first time ever doing this, which I told her, and hoped she would offer some guidance, but she didn't. She put off such an arrogance that I finally asked her if she didn't want my business and if she preferred I went elsewhere. After that she went from acting ticked off to acting inconvenienced. She basically took my name and phone number and said they would call. The next day I went back to try to get more information on when it would be ready and explain how i wanted it processed. I asked for snack stix, summer sausage and other items but she basically said the ONLY thing they do is ground meat or breakfast sausage; wow, okay, she said maybe a week. I waited 3 more days, but needed the cooler back to return to my friend so stopped in and picked it up, still no progress. The next day a man called and asked for processing specifics. My friend who is a hunter spoke to him and specified a 50/50 mix with pork. 11 days pass and no phone call, so I called. She said it was ready, but I didn't know for how long or if it was being refrigerated. I asked how much and she said $255!!!!! From what everyone I know has said, it should have been around $100 for a mid sized doe! Highway robbery is onething, but what got me to spend 10 minutes writing this review and reposting it on every review site and community board is the complete and utter lack of not just customer service, but down right rudeness and disregard by the woman who I dealt with. I wish I got her name. When I stopped in the second time she complained about being the only one working, having people quit and how the only day she had off was her birthday on Thanksgiving...I get a bad day, but the amount of disrespect she showed was inexcusable.
Update: the owner called and apologized after reading my review and offered me a $50 discount. The venison is tasty, but still wish they offered more options...
Read moreI ordered here a few times and I always get a rude look from the lady at the counter. On lunch break one day, I ordered chips and queso and a couple tacos, and my coworkers each ordered two tacos. I ordered first, my coworkers each received their tacos before me, were able to eat them, go to the store next door and come back and I was still waiting. After a couple visits to the counter to ask about my order she stares at me with a blank look and says it's being prepared. After a third visit I see her pouring the queso in a bowl and bring it to me with my now cold tacos. After asking what took so long she said it was because of the cheese. The lady knew I was on a lunch break and did not care to tell me that the queso was gonna take 20 minutes "to melt" (which is BS). Horrible lady, I will never give them...
Read moreOh my goodness... this place is absolutely AMAZING!!! We live right around the corner from the meat market so weâve just never made a point to drive back there, but guys! Itâs absolutely incredible. Heâs a local guy who opened a shop to be a part of his (our) community and you can tell put SO MUCH thought into everything. Not only is the food exceptionally just BETTER than any other taco Iâve had, the ambiance and feel of the place is just a cut above the rest. Do yourself a favor, donât wait as long as we did.... Go try whatever sounds yummy on the menu - the owner will likely be there bussing tables and making sure everything tastes good.... I wish I had taken a pic but I was too busy stuffing...
