My family ordered from True Texas BBQ the second day it was open at the H.E.B. Kingwood location. We went with the BBQ Party Pack for 6. The pack came nicely boxed including 1 lb. of brisket, 1 lb. of turkey, 1 smoked chicken, and 4 medium sides including brisket beans, coleslaw, green beans, and potato salad. The meat was neatly wrapped in butcher's paper, and the sides were in styrofoam containers. Also included in the box was a bottle of H.E.B. BBQ sauce. We found that the food portion would actually feed 8 - 10 people easily, and the cost was relatively good at $66.00 + tax. One of the only downfalls with choosing the BBQ Party Pack is that they don't allow for subsitutions. I had been eyeing the creamed corn and mac & cheese not included in any of the party packs which they offer packs for 12 and 24. The meat was good especially the turkey. The BBQ sauce had a fairly strong kick as I prefer more of a sweet, mustard based sauce. I've had better BBQ, yet the convenience of True Texas BBQ is just hard to beat, and it is a great addition to Kingwood, Texas. My recommendation if your doing pickup, utilize their app - True Texas BBQ App. You can place your order and pay in advance, and if you pick up inside, you by-pass the line and go straight to the counter. If you haven't tried True Texas BBQ, give it a shot.

I went to H-E-B on Monday for groceries and somehow left with a full belly, a BBQ coma, and a new bestie named Legaci at the register. I ordered the rib plate with mac and cheese and collard greens—and let me tell you, those ribs were so good, and flavorful. She made a great recommendation. I had to physically stop myself from licking the bone clean like a cartoon character. The mac and cheese? Creamy, cheesy, probably illegal in some states. The collard greens tasted like someone’s Southern grandma made them with love (and maybe a little sass). Bonus points for the pickles, onions, and bread—because every BBQ plate needs its entourage. And then—Legaci. The cashier. An angel in an apron. Her kindness wasn’t just customer service; it was a moment. A vibe. A cinematic side character who steals the whole scene. Would definitely come back just to vibe with her again and get more of those ribs!

Well, overall I give them a thumbs up. I had a sausage sandwich, creamed corn and preach cobbler. The wife had chopped beef sandwich, potato salad and preach cobbler. I usually do not like the BBQ sauce at BBQ places, but theirs was actually exceptional. The creamed corn was really good. I thought my wife's potato salad was really good, but she wasn't that big of a fan. But the wife and I disagree on what makes a good potato salad, that's seems just the way it is. She is more a mustard fan, and I'm more a mayo fan The peach cobbler was pretty good but I of us said. She said her chopped beef was excellent. I did not like my Sausage sandwich. The bun seemed old, and the Sausage was dry and chewy. But i will go back, just won't order sausage anything. Also they do not have fried anything, okra, fries or rings. But they do have a good side selection, just keep that in mind.

The food is decent and the service is good. However, the portion size is quite small. I ordered a 2 meat plate and am surprised by the puny serving size. I got 2.5 thin slices of brisket and 2 slices of slightly bigger, but still thin, Turkey breast.

The brisket has a pretty good smokey flavor, but a bit dry. Maybe it is a reheat from the night before? I came in about half hour after opening, so I don't know. The Turkey is not as flavorful but still good. For my sides I ordered the creamed corn and corn bread. The creamed corn and corn bread are different than what I'm used to. The creamed corn looks like corn in thousand island dressing and tastes ok and slightly spicy. I much prefer the creamed corn from Rudy's BBQ with that sweet, creamier, richer flavor better. The corn bread is actually corn bread with jalapenos pepper in it and has a mild kick to it. I like the flavor of the corn bread a lot but again it is on the dry side. They have 2 bbq sauce flavors. The spicy one is good but the other one tastes like alcohol to me and not good.

For about $12 you might be able to get more meat at another bbq place. The side dishes are different than the traditional recipes and worth a try to experience something new. Would only go back if I happen to be shopping at HEB and feel like bbq for the convenient factor. I wouldn't go out of my way to try this place. There isn't...

I ordered food from Texas True BBQ because I wanted to feed my Family. So, I ordered the Party of 6 Family meal along with a Baked Potato and Donut Bread Pudding. When my food arrived to my home and I opened the bag to my surprise all that was there was a Baked potato and Banana Pudding. Where was the rest of my order? After contracting the delivery company I found out that my order was changed because the Meal Combo I purchased was out of stock. If I had known that the food I chose was not available I would have chosen something else or cancelled my order. Instead I was left with a Baked Potato and Donut Bread Pudding to feed a family of 5. Thanks Texas True BBQ for your professionalism and Great Customer Service.

Update: After Speaking with Customer Service and a Mgr. from the restaurant I was informed that one of the items I purchased was discontinued and replaced with something different. By doing so it cancelled that part of my order. They attempted to contacted the delivery service who I went through to purchase my food and was put on hold.. So they went ahead sent the rest of my order. One loaded potato to feed 5 people Oh and don't forget to Bread Pudding.. SMH Thank goodness I wasn't feeding more people in...
