Don't let the cute decor fool you, the service sucks! I wish I could give this place zero stars because I didn't even get the chance to eat there. We came in today (Thursday of their opening week) over an hour before closing because we wanted to try their $1 special and today was the only day that had a special I could eat due to medical issues. We walk in to the hostess turning everyone away because their kitchen was backed up. I understand but I was confused as half of the restaurant was empty. When I asked her about it she said it's because they accepted too many to go orders for their $1 specials. When I looked confused she added that they had people placing orders for 15+ specials to go. I asked why they did that since everything posted on their social medias said limited one per person and she started to argue with me, being super rude. At that point we decided to leave and not give in to the scene she was starting to cause. I have attached an image of the post they posted on Facebook earlier today where it says it is limited to one per person. I wouldn't normally be so upset, I understand it is opening week, but the hostess was so rude and she made me feel bad for even asking about the limit (which again they reiterated in every single post about their opening week specials which is why I brought it up). They made a mistake and didn't follow the limits that they themselves set and when faced with a group of patrons waiting to pay them to eat there they refused to admit that they made a mistake or offer to honour the special another time since it was their fault for overselling against their rules and instead turned it against us and made me feel embarrassed and stupid for just wanting to enjoy their business. All this to say, I can't speak for their food but the service itself would keep me from ever coming back. I am so disappointed because I live around the corner and have been wanting a local brunch place since we moved here 15+years ago but I would rather drive further to go somewhere I feel welcomed instead of a burden. If you are looking for a good brunch place with better service I would drive down to Black Bear Diner or over to New Caney for The Toasted Yolk and just bypass this place all together. To the management of this place: Your host is the face of this business. I'm sure the rest of your staff is lovely, the other girl (purple hair if you want to let her know she was the one positive part of the whole interaction) that was there was very sweet and kind, but if the first interaction I have at your restaurant is so negative it is going to keep me from getting to know the positive aspects of your business and the kinder members of your staff. One terrible interaction can seriously ruin the reputation of a place in the customers eyes. I hope you learn from this opening week who is worth keeping on your team and who is bringing the kind and hard working employees down. Sorry this was long but I have severe social anxiety and always look at reviews before going anywhere and if this review can help keep someone else (with or without anxiety) from going in there and having a negative experience than I think it's a review worth leaving.

Well, let me just start by saying that the food here was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. It was everything I expected and more! I ordered the Stuffed French Toast breakfast, which also included eggs, grits, and the best apple sausage patties I've ever tasted. The food was amazing and although they had your typical Sunday lunch rush it didn't take long at all for them to make it and have it out so I definitely want to give them their flowers for that. The only issue I ran into here was while I was in route since I live a little ways away, I called as I was leaving to pre order and pretty much immediately someone was able to answer and ask if I could be placed on hold for a minute which is absolutely normal I get that Sunday mornings are busy for most restaurants so I didnt see anything at all alarming or wrong with being asked to hold. However, this turned out to be an unusally long hold to the point where no one actually ever came back to get my order. In fact, I actually made it to the restaurant, and by that time still no one had come back on the line to take my order. When I looked back at the call info it turns out that call was over 25 minutes long which means I was placed on hold all that time only to not even be able to place my order in advance over the phone in the end. When I got there, I did end up placing a togo order and I mentioned how I called in trying to place the order and that I was left on hold for over 20 min and the lady taking my order did say it was probably her and she said sorry and explained that she was busy do stuff around the restaurant and stuff which I did appreciate her taking accountability and apologizing so I still left a tip for her and i didnt say much else about it beyond that or hassle her. But as someone who's always worked in the service industry i just didnt see it as a resonable/ necessary issue to have to experience. I do try to always be understanding and I definitely didn't make it that big of a deal seeing as I was still able to order my food and I did enjoy it I understand it to be a minor inconvenience. Because the food was as good as it was, I would definitely go back to this restaurant for breakfast again...

This was our first ever visit to The Flying Biscuit Cafe and I enjoyed everything on our plate,we were scratching the plate! Dylan , our server did a great job explaining the dishes and gave great service. I asked for an iced coffee and he brought an iced Carmel latte, it was really good. If you feel it's too strong on the espresso taste I recommend adding a splash of French vanilla creamer and you'll love it! I ordered the Dirty Bird which was the Texas shaped waffle with chicken and two over medium eggs on top. I asked for the gravy on the side. It's not just anywhere you can find some good chicken and waffles, this place got it right. I also ordered some grits on the side, Dylan did explain they added their own touch to their grits and cheese, it does make a difference, I really enjoyed the flavor. I even added some of my gravy into the grits! So good! Again, this is my first time ever coming here and it excites me to know there is another breakfast place where we can come and enjoy some non- commercialized food. This place gave me Toasted yolk meets Barnaby's Cafe vibes. Toasted yolk in the presentation of food but everything else reminded me of Barnaby's which I love. Can't wait to try more. Thank you for the great service...
