I went shopping at Backstage on August 17 and purchased a few items. During checkout, I told the cashier, David, that I was buying them for someone else and might need to return them if they didn’t fit. He wasn’t very friendly from the start, and I even felt he might have been acting discriminatory, but I let it go.
When we tried on two of the shorts later, they were too big, so I went back the next day to return them. The lady at the counter looked at my receipt and said it didn’t match the items. I explained that this was the only receipt I was given. She called someone else over, and he told me I needed the correct receipt. I showed proof of purchase on my card, but he still refused and was very rude.
I asked what I was supposed to do, and eventually David showed up. I reminded him that he was there during my purchase, but he said he didn’t remember. I even suggested they check the CCTV footage, but they refused. After more back-and-forth, the employee finally looked at my receipt again and processed the refund.
