I am wrapping up three months at Vintage CrossFit and I find myself wishing I had joined sooner! Having previously done CrossFit from 2017 to 2019, I took a four-year hiatus and was quite nervous about returning. However, I finally decided to take the plunge, and I'm so glad I did.
The Fundamentals program was essential for me to reacquaint myself with the movements. I cannot praise Coach Kristie enough for her ability to break down the movements into easily digestible steps, making the transition back to CrossFit smooth and enjoyable.
Owner/Head Coach Dennis - Patient, communicative, thorough, and actively involved. If only I can get myself to wake up early enough to attend the classes he coach!
As an evening class attendee, I've had the pleasure of being coached by Ryan, Alex, Sebastian, Nam, and Bel. Never a dull moment with any of these coaches (they all have a unique personality of their own), and they've never made me feel silly for asking questions about the workout or scaling options. I absolutely adore all the coaches I've interacted with. They really are your biggest hype-man/woman!
I'm a pretty shy/introverted person but the members here are so kind. I had roughly four members introduce themselves to me on my first day and the coaches will approach you to introduce themselves to you (really puts an introvert at ease). I know several members by name now and we're just all here to sweat and be a better version of ourselves together.
TL;DR - Coaches are awesome, community is welcoming, and I wish I had...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy boyfriend and i did a free saturday class to see if we i wanted to make this my box and for him to try a crossfit class for the first time. As my boyfriend had never done crossfit i called before we went to confirm it would be okay for him to attend the class. I was told it would be no problem and the coach would help him with the movements. We arrived and it was instantly super cliquey. No one said hi or introduced themselves. The coach seemed more interested in chatting with the regulars instead of coaching. Didn't really explain the movements of the warm up. Didn't show any modifications which would have been helpful for someone who has never done it before. Didn't direct us to any of the needed equipment. I had to ask people in the class and search it out myself. Gave no modifications for the work out. Luckily I have done crossfit before so i knew some but overall i was underwhelmed. What I have loved about past boxes is that everyone is there together to defeat the work out and how welcoming it usually is. Did not feel that here. Which is a big disappointment because of all the 5...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI joined Vintage about 2 months ago. I was Leary at first because I have a previous shoulder injury. I was worried I wouldnāt be able to do any of the workouts, because working out on my own Iāve struggled. Boy was I ever wrong! Dennis and the other coaches have helped me soo much. I am able to do things in class that I never ever thought possible! Itās honestly life changing. As a woman we are always self-conscious especially going to the gym. We are always looking in the mirror constantly critiquing what we see... well in this gym there are no mirrors and no one is there for vanity, everyone is there to get stronger and healthier. It is the first time in years that i have changed my outlook on working out. With this workout it changes you all around mentally, emotionally and physically. I highly recommend it! Also, if youāve never lifted before donāt worry, the coaches are so hands on they will really help you with form to avoid injuries....
