I've never experienced an episode at any Walmart as I did today!!! I was trying to purchase an item that was ringing up wrong at the register. The first cashier recognized the issue but told me I needed to go to a regular register so they can fix the price because she couldn't personally do it at the UScan... No problem...I proceeded to the register. At the register I explained to the cashier what the last cashier told me and she said no problem let her check it out. When she scanned the barcode on the item to check the pricing it said that the store was "out of stock" so she asked for the manager to come help. The manager that "came to help" was Umar... While I was trying to explain what was going on... The first thing Umar did was cut me off and says "if that's what it's ringing up, that's what it is" .. I said ok but it's marked $199 at the back of the store and it says on the store assistant on the Walmart ap that its $199. Umar said "NO! That's the online price! We don't price match online prices." I told him it wasn't an online price because online it says "see in store for price". Long story short he became irate and disrespectful at that point. Calmly, not trying to cause a scene in front of my children..I asked him could he call another manager since his badge said support manager... He said and I quote "There ain't another manager that can help you because the price is what it is" I asked him could I go to customer service... He said "yeah if u want to" I said ok and proceeded to grab the item. He snapped at me and reached for it and said "I'll take it" I said ok dang don't drop it... Then he said "I won't" again with a snappy voice.. then he said "Are you going to buy it" like come on now is this guy serious?!!?? Long story short we went to customer service where Terrel (store manager) was located and he resolved the issue.. That's why I'm giving the store 3 stars because Terrel helped me and I've shopped there numerous times before. I live in Fresno... The only reason why I drove all the way to that store was simply because it was the closest store with the item in stock. He's rude... Disrespectful and doesn't know how to talk to people and if I wasn't saved.... Whew... Smh I'll just continue shopping at the Walmarts...
Read moreGoodness gracious. I have lived over in the Bellaire area for about 30 years. I used to go to his Walmart until about 7 years ago, but I still go over to this Walmart to get some things that I can't find at my regular places that I shop for groceries at. But I refuse to go there again. I don't know who the hiring manager is at this place, but his/her mission must be to hire the people that could decrease the already-terrible customer service.
So to the reasons why I hate this place:
I went there today to return something that I ordered online. I wait in the extremely long line (only two people working at the counter) and then a manager tells me and the other people returning items to go to register 2 (not at the customer service desk but in the checkout area) to return my item. I asked her if they would be able to process a return for my online order and she said yes. I leave my position at the front of the line and go to the second register. The Walmart employee working the register (not a manager) tells me that she can't process returns for online orders and that they can only do that at the customer service desk. I don't blame the Walmart employee working at the second register, but I blame the MANAGER (who confirmed with me that I could return my online order at the second register) for not being familiar with the return process. I wasn't escorted to the front of the customer service line due to their error.
But the reasons why I stopped coming to this about 5 years ago are that all the shelves are so disorganized, some of the staff can hardly speak English, the store is just so busy (occupied with so many kids running around), they don't staff customer service enough, they don't accept Apple Pay, and they just don't care about customer service. They don't categorize their items very well so it's difficult to find a specific item that you want because there's so many different aisles that your item could be in. So I don't really blame the workers for not being able to tell you where you need to go because there are so many different places that it could be at.
This Walmart has gone down hill and they need to get some new managers and new approach to...
Read moreI have been a regular shopper at this location since moving to Houston, but my recent experience was unacceptable.
After leaving class, I stopped by to pick up a few hygiene items. While waiting for assistance to access a locked product, I was abruptly approached by a Walmart manager, a police officer, and an associate, who accused my boyfriend and me of soliciting or selling insurance inside the store. We explained that we were carrying iPads simply to prevent them from overheating in the car. Despite this reasonable explanation, they walked away, yet I overheard the female associate whispering to the manager, âI know they isâ or âI know they did,â implying we were guilty of something we clearly were not.
From that point on, we were followed by a security guard throughout the store. When we attempted to pay, the Walmart Pay app malfunctioned, requiring us to briefly return to our vehicle to get our wallets. Upon re-entering, we realized we needed to retrieve one last item from the medicine aisle. Given the uncomfortable environment, we asked an associate for help to speed up the process.
As the associate assisted us, the same officer and original associate returned, and the officer accused us directly, saying, âNow why did yâall lie to me/I know yâall lied to me.â When we asked what exactly they wanted from us, the response was, âWe need y'all to leave now.â
This was not only humiliating but also a clear case of HARASSMENT and FALSE ACCUSATIONS. At no point were we doing anything inappropriate or against store policy. We were treated with suspicion and hostility for merely carrying electronics (an assumption made without any evidence).
I felt targeted, disrespected, and publicly humiliated. I will not be returning to this Walmart, and I sincerely hope the management reflects on how this situation was handled. No customer deserves to be...
