I was very disappointed with my experience. It is a rare occasion where I complain about Starbucks but today when my husband drove me to the location at 4660 N Brasewood I was shocked. The barista took the order of the male standing in front of me. After this customer stepped to the side I approached the window to give my order. The barista slammed the window closed in my face and turned away. I didn't immediately become offended as I assumed there was something urgent that needed attention and that they would quickly return. A few MINUTES pass and not one of the 4 people I see working comes to the window. I finally saw a doorbell to the side of the window and pressed it. Immediately a barista appeared at the window to take my order. When I left the window to go to the bathroom two males were waiting for their orders. When I came out everyone was gone. I went to the window to retrieve my order and no one looked up. I saw a Grande sized drink on a counter and assumed it was mine. I rang the bell one person looked up at me but did not come to the window and kept working. No other acknowledgement of my presence was given. I pressed the button again, and still no response. I pulled out my phone to document the situation and a barista immediately came to the window. I asked for my order, about window procedures, and articulated my frustration. He said with a half smile that the doorbell didn't work but never elaborated on the procedures. He simply told me why he didn't like to work the window, and why it was hard. Conspicuously absent were the two words retail agents use to quickly diffuse a situation, "I'm sorry". Which, in my opinion, either speaks to poor training, or avoidance of cognitive dissonance. I believe it to be the latter. I took my drinks, left, and resolved never to return to any Starbucks ever again. The amount of time it took for the entire exchange was one thing, but it did not help that I was the only African-American in this...
Read moreMy wife and I have lived here for 7 years. I rarely complain online but alas after years of consistent manager and barista attitudes , we are now bound to leave a complaint. We understand this location is busy , which is why we order 20 minutes before arriving online . Consistently, we get out and let them know we are here for our order which was placed 20 minutes ago , just in case they are too busy to manage the online orders. Regardless of ordering ahead , they will serve every single white customer ahead of us , with much different eagerness and compassion In their disposition. After we let them know we are here , we still end up waiting an additional 20-30 minutes for our order. Regardless of who is working the shift : the attitudes and customer service towards my wife and I are disrespectful and at this point demeaning . They literally won’t even look my wife in the Eye , who is a native Jamaican and is remarkably polite and welcoming , especially towards the food service industry employees . I watch them ignore her and treat us as secondary guests no longer. We will never quench our caffeinated libations here again. Let this serve as warning for all the folks of color who haven’t forgotten where they are from. Don’t take give this trash Starbucks business, just go to Meyerland Starbucks where you are treated as a proper...
Read moreI have never stopped at this location based on the awkward layout and it never seemed to be on my way anywhere when I wanted/needed Starbucks. In an attempt to get to my next Rewards point threshold, I stopped in a few days ago.
I pulled in from the Braeswood entrance when I realized that this was not going to the regular Starbucks run. Long lines, yes...just no lobby. The setup reminded me of a Rally's/Checkers with the window service. I chose not to wait in the car line because I had a feeling it would be a thousand times faster to use the window service and it was. Even with the delayed acknowledgement of the staff inside, I was in and out in 8 minutes.
The product (regular black iced tea with splenda/honey) was sufficient and I had no complaints there.
When I was leaving, I almost got boxed in by a smoking truck being pushed into the parking lot. I can imagine that based on the location of this store that they probably get lots of wayward traffic. If parking, use an out-of-the-way parking spot to avoid...
