Marble Slab Creamery — Restaurant in Houston

We just had a very unfortunate experience at the Bellfort Marble Slab in Meyer Park. We decided to celebrate my son’s baseball win with his grandparents who had driven all the way from Dickinson with some ice cream. We ordered 6 ice creams and my dad ordered a rum flavored ice cream, but it did not taste good at all. Unfortunately, he hadn’t tasted that flavor before ordering a medium serving of it. We asked to please have it replaced with another ice cream and the girl working said NO. She told us that he should’ve tasted it first because she wouldn’t replace it. She said ¨why would I give you a free ice cream?¨ And she said it didnt matter that we didn´t like it, because no one had a problem with it before us and she didn´t see a problem with it. I looked at the tub and only his serving had been scooped out of it. She tried to tell me that they switch the tubs out for new ones, but there is no way that anyone had tried that batch of ice cream.

He had barely eaten any. but we all tasted it and not only did it not have a rum flavor, it did not taste good at all and was not edible. Not even to try and eat it, so we gave it back to show it wasn’t just a preference thing even if we paid for it . When we left it on the counter employee pointed to the trash can and said “The trash is right there” because for some reason she didn’t even want to be bothered to dispose of the ice cream. We asked for the manager and she said she was the manager. I asked for a contact to the store manager or owner and she refused to give me a contact other than a name, saying that we should look it up.

She also even refused to give me the phone number to the store and said I should look it up. Only after I started videoing the incident did she look up the number and write it down, with the comment, “you know that’s the number to here and we are the ones that are going to pick up the phone. She turned a celebratory occasion into a disappointing, awful and frustrating experience. We have celebrated so many kid wins here as customers at this store for 8 years.

So disappointing. I have never had an establishment refuse to replace something...

I attempted to order a cake from this location. I called several times before anyone answered the phone. Finally someone answered and they told me complete the order online. I asked if 2 days notice was enough time for a cake order and they said yes. I also asked if online would allow me to create custom orders and they said yes. They ended the call and didn’t want to take the order over the phone. I attempted to order the cake online and I was not able to purchase any custom cakes or make changes/substitutions to cakes on the site. I then went in person to this location and they told me it wasn’t enough time place a cake order. I explained that I called earlier and followed their instructions for online ordering and it didn’t work. They didn’t care and just said that I couldn’t place an order for a cake. TERRIBLE customer service. They didn’t offer any solution or suggestions and took no accountability for their misinformation. It’s very dismissive to call and then just be told to do it online and hung up on. I tried every way I could to order a cake and was denied in each way and lied to. I visited this particular location on July 14th 2022. And I was all the way disappointed. Lets discuss being behind on technology. Update that. Don't give a receipt go A customer on A run along bases and scan a receipt. That's terribly raggedy. Catch up with your other locations so you don't appear business tacky. I should be able to give you my number, you enter that into your system and get my points. You don't put your customer to work. You work for your customers. GET IT TOGETHER and NOW. Lets discuss your disgusting none flavored ice cream. Cheesecake ice cream needs to taste like cheesecake ok? Your Rum ice cream had NO rum flavor AT ALL. If you know what Raid roach spray smells like then it was the scent of that eating these flavors of ice cream. TRASH...DUMPSTER. Stafford location spectacular....Sugarland location bravo.
