I bought a Nintendo Switch console end of October for my son for Christmas. I recently just bought another Nintendo Switch for my other child for Christmas at Target, boxes were different and I looked it up and I received an older model from Gamestop and the newer one from Target. So I called my local Gamestop and they said even though its past 30 days for exchange he would honor it and would swap old console for new one. I get there with unopened console and my receipt and he tells me he cannot do the exchange because skus aren't matching....I never opened the box, this is how I received it from Gamestop when I ordered it and he said that I would have to call customer service because of the numbers not matching....it was a wasted trip, I did nothing wrong, i had the product i received from Gamestop (untouched and unopened) I had the receipt and the employee was willing to exchange even though its only less than 2 months from date of purchase but because numbers aren't matching on box (which I have no control over) the employee could not accommodate me. This is not the first issue I have had with poor customer service with this company. Needless to say, I will not be shopping at this store or any Gamestop for that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the closest GameStop āretroā store around me. Itās nice to see older products available again, especially for the Wii, PS3, and 360 era. Service was excellent, but GameStop forces employees to āunlockā any kind of retro products. Annoying, but not deal breaking.
The pricing on the āretroā products is all over the place. I bought two Wii remotes. One was an original white one, one was a newer black one with Wiimotion Plus. Each was around $30 after tax.
The black one is perfect and well worth the money. The buttons work and itās like new. The white remote was filthy - my fault, shouldāve checked the clear bag - but itās also scratched up and there were two batteries starting to corrode inside of it. Quality control on used products definitely could be better.
Overall, Iām glad to see GameStop embracing games again instead of just pushing funko pops and the like, and the customer service at this location was excellent. However, it should not be $30 for a $10 ebay remote that needs a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEmployees at this location are friendly and helpful. They are very knowledgeable about gaming systems, games, consoles, and just about everything gaming. This store was nicely organized, neat and well stocked. There was a large selection of items on sale and clearance: t-shirts, hats, wallets, novelties and other gaming related merchandise. We are members of the PowerUp program and it is well worth the annual fee. The membership pays for itself with the merchandise discount, (multiple times over if you purchase games often.) The $2 & $3 protection plan on games is a MUST HAVE. Previously owned games, controllers, etc. are available at a slight discount and are guaranteed. The only negative about GameStop is trading in games. The store credit given for games is minimal, and unless you are trading in dozens at a time, it isn't...
