If I had one word to describe the whole experience there it would be: passable. The rest of this review I'll elaborate. I went there with my wife and two preteen girls on May 31st to celebrate some good news within the family. One of the first things you'll see before entering is a sign that warns you about peanut shells being on the floor. While I am all for something fun that is a bit of a throwback to the old days, the barrel of peanuts that everyone (especially kids with filthy hands) grab, eat and throw their garbage on the floor was not the most appealing greeting; especially when you see the unlucky teenage boy sadly half sweeping the shells into the pan. Once seated, you are greeted with a very tasty plate of warm bread and flavored butter. Our waitress Megan was pleasant and got most things right but forgot a few things along the way. No biggie but some might get flustered from that. Now onto the food. We first ordered the cheese and bacon fries and I'd give that a 5 out of 10. To me, the fries were the wrong kind for that type of appetizer and the cheese and bacon was plentiful but ultimately wasnt good enough to ever want again (and we are fans of this dish). For an entree, I ordered the ribeye and ribs combo while my wife ordered the fried catfish and kids ordered a hot dog plate and a cheeseburger plate. My one daughter really liked the mini cheeseburgers here and the other with the hot dog ate about half because they were full from bread. My wife really enjoyed the catfish and my ribs were ordinary while the steak left me wishing I went to Longhorns. To wrap it up, the place is in a bad spot (entrance is poorly designed and signage is weak), almost all employees didn't seem to want to be there; their dance number meant to entertain was like watching people being held captive perform and the food is nothing memorable enough to pay restaurant prices for. NOTE: I went there with the highest hope it would be good because it's the 1st in my area and I've been looking forward to eating there as a potential investor based on their stock price and rapid growth. Unfortunately, my money and future appetites will be...
Read moreI visited Texas Roadhouse with some family a couple of nights ago. We were hungry and wanted a solid meal. Texas Roadhouse delivered it.
Front of the house was on point and got us a table pretty quickly. We were seated and we reviewed a pretty extensive menu that is pretty much the same as all the chain steak places: all the most popular cuts of meat in various serving sizes. As the place is Texas themed, the menu follows suit in naming the different cuts (I forget the naming scheme but 'dallas ribeye' comes to mind). But it's a solid menu with chicken and fish options. I'm sure even a vegetarian could find something on the menu they could eat if needed.
Our server was Natasha, and we could not have had a better server. Quick on her feet and quick with her wit, she made us laugh and feel comfortable, knew the menu inside and out, and ensured we had everything we needed.
I ordered the ribeye w grilled shrimp, house salad w ranch, and the vegetable side which turned out to be broccoli. The salad was a basic house salad, but veg was fresh. Steak was very good, cooked exactly as I had asked. Shrimp were well spiced and grilled. Broccoli was a steamed but not salted or flavored in any way. I like broccoli and would eat it uncooked, but I'd have enjoyed it more if it were spiced similarly to the steak and shrimp.
So far as chain steak restaurants go, you won't go wrong with this location. The atmosphere is fun, they have salted peanuts to snack on everywhere; u get to throw the shells on the floor, which I enjoyed doing more than I thought I would. As a result, if anyone in your dining party has a peanut allergy, I'd have to recommend staying away from this chain. But if that is not an issue, you will enjoy a solid meal at...
