I've been in this store a handful of times since it opened and I have never been impressed with the service. Everyone I have encounter that works there has always had the attitude that customers were bothering them and that they didn't have time for novice customers. I made my first purchase as a Wisconsin resident at a competitor because when I went into Bill's to get their opinion and ask some questions about the gun (Beretta PX4 Storm .40 sub-compact), I was immediately told they have one in stock, but it wasn't a very good gun, but that he could show it to me if I wanted. I was so turned off by this guys TERRIBLE salesmanship and customer service, I couldn't get out of there quick enough.
Fast forward to 3 months ago, I went back into Bill's again as I was in the market for another CC pistol, this time the M&P Shield .40. Why I expected this interaction to be any different, I don't know. I again went into the store and inquired about the availability of the gun, and was told right away "I don't like it and don't think it's any good at all, but if you want it, I can show it to you I guess..." The guy was obviously annoyed that I pulled him away from doing nothing behind the counter. I again didn't stick around too long and made the purchase at a competitor.
I don't have enough room to tell my whole story of why Bill's is a joke, but can say I have given them every chance to sell me a gun (I have purchased 3 in the past year). Not only have I never made a gun purchase there, they have never even asked me to buy a gun from them.
I am very disappointed to have given Bill’s so many chances to give me good service and be helpful, and they fell way short each and every time! Three times I went in there shopping for guns, and three times I was blown off and never once offered to make a purchase. I would assume that Bill’s Gun Shop is in the business of selling guns, but after my experiences, I would safely assume I am wrong. I have had my fill of disappointment and don’t see myself stepping foot in a Bill’s Gun Shop again. The lack of customer service, salesmanship, professionalism, and lack of interest towards their customers is enough to...
Read moreBad customer service. Don’t show any frustration and be happy as mr. rogers even though they were unhelpful and rude. You’re able to bring your own safety glasses and ear protection but it’s apparently subject to osha standards and they’re more than pleased to offer you their 11 dollar ear muffs per person instead borrowed not sold. Hit roadblocks immediately when attempting to use the range. First, online waiver couldn’t be found. After pondering my options while being glared at for a minute or so staff member finally offered a solution. Second, my ear protection that I brought for myself and my guests was inadequate. At first the staff member acknowledged that I had safety glasses and ear protection. Then, she asks me if I need ear protection after brief pause. I was confused because we already established I had ear protection. That’s when she took the time to offer the golden earmuffs. Obviously I’m a little perturbed but rather than level with me or show any sign of empathy she tells us she’s calling it and tells us we may not shoot that evening and to come back another time citing my attitude and troubles. I offered apology but her mind was made up. Not once during this whole conversation did she ever smile or offer any helpful solutions. Couldn’t even pretend to understand my frustrations. They’re allowed to become agitated with you as employees but as a customer you must be meek as a mouse otherwise the gavel is tapped and you’re...
Read moreStopped in the other day to pickup a new handgun. I wasn’t sure exactly what I was looking for as I’m not super familiar with the technical specs of various makes/models. The staff were very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable as they opened various display cases for me to pick out a few that I might like that they also had as a rental. Rented a few 9mm pistols to try and got some range time in to see what fit my hand best. Settled for a Glock 48 in the end. The gentleman who was helping me (I didn’t catch his name) was extremely friendly and patient as he understood I wasn’t a “know it all” for guns and had no issue answering the questions I had about the differences in the few guns I was looking at. He told me to worry about finding what fit my hand best and to let him worry about the technical and specs side of the gun.
As I had purchased 150 rounds of ammo, paid for range time, and rented 3 guns, they applied the $15 from the first gun rental to my purchase. I asked if they have a first responder discount and they happily applied an additional 5% discount for me. Thanks guys for your patience and professionalism! I’ve been in to bills before for shooting our rifles but have never purchased a gun before this from them. I’ll gladly return in the future for any further firearm needs and highly recommend them to anyone for all firearms needs, training,...
