J R's Western World — Local services in Huntsville

I went to this store twice and it was closed. I drove by and saw a car there today and was very skeptical about going in due to the reviews. The door was locked and my friend said "He's probably in the bathroom lets wait 5 minutes so we did. About 2 minutes later JR opened the door and I still was kind of scared to go in because the reviews said he was rude. Upon entering I explained that I was looking for a women's wide calf boot and he told me to try a men's boot and those might fit better. He explained the materials of the boots, which ones where made in the U.S. and even told me to try on as many as I wanted and that it might take him a little longer to get things from the back due to his age and moving slow. I honestly can't believe I would have missed out on my boots because of these reviews. Mr. Jr is old and maybe he does have his bad days but he was an absolute sweetheart to me and I will e go back even if it's just to say hi. He's closed on Mondays and open Tue-Sat 11-4 I think (if I remember correctly) . . . .PLEASE go see...

I just went there today for the first time ready to buy a new pair of Lucchese boots. The elderly gentleman at the front counter pointed me to an overcrowded corner of the cramped store where only 1 of each pair available were "displayed". I suppose, by only having one of each pair of shoes displayed they could show more inventory, but I suspect it was mostly to prevent shoplifting. No one ever offered to help me and when I inquired about using their restroom was rudely told by the clerk/ manager that they didn't have a public restroom. At that I informed him that I would be taking my $400 to spend elsewhere. he appeared to care less. I will never set foot in their store again. Jeez- talk about no customer service! By the way, I just ordered the boots at 49Boots online. Great customer service, cheaper than JR's Western World and no...

My husband desperately needs a new pair of work boots. We went to 6 or 7 stores in the Huntsville/Madison area. We went into JR's Western World. I was immediately shocked about the massive amounts of......"stuff"......stuff everywhere. There is way too much....clothes, belts, purses, boots, etc. scattered all over the store. This has to be dangerous. If the elderly man who works there, were to fall, God only knows how much he would be buried under before someone found him. Definite fire hazard. But they did have some cute clothes...
