Upstreet Ace Hardware — Local services in Indiana

This store has exceedingly helpful people. I needed a simple starter for a light and could not find it at two other stores including a big box store that I thought had everything. I finally went to Upstreet Ace hardware and found what I needed. It was my first time there. The parking area at the back of the sore was very convenient. After looking around, I noticed the leaf blowers which I had been thinking about getting. The clerk was very helpful in explaining the choices. I went back two days later and bought the one I had researched even though it was a little less expensive at a big box store. Why was I willing to spend more? It was because of the time that the clerk took to help me and explain the choices. Also, the presence of a service department should I need work done. Big box stores sell you an item and once you are out the door, service, if any, is secondary. Upstreet Ace operates on the quality of personal service before and after a purchase. I bought a small pool for my grandsons and the filter left a lot of room for improvement so I ordered a larger sand filter. Putting the filter together I realized I needed some hose adapters, clamps, some hose and filter sand. I prepared myself for hours of running around but I stopped her first because it was closest and boy was I surprised, twenty feet into the store I was greeted by a sales associate and told him what I needed and he said follow me. Within 15 minutes he had everything I needed and I was checking out. This will definitely be my first stop from now on. If I could rate this with zero stars I would. I parked in their parking lot to go and grab food quick and then wanted to go in and pick up a large amount of items. When I got back to my car, twelve minutes later, this note was in my window. When I called to explain, I was told that it was entitlement and the owner hung up on me. I will never give this store my business. I would rather shop at Lowe's or Home Depot.
