Photos and reviews on Google look good BUT not accurate with what I recieved today. My very first visit was disappointing. I tried to give them benefit -- They do have signs now hiring more staff all positions. 7pm on Thursday night. Restaurant only full in back bar - 5 other tables in balance of big restaurant had a couple people each. I was told 20-30min+ for pickup, i got there at 25min then waited inside for an hour past pick up time for my phone order. Staff appolgetic tried to make conversation. They hadn't started my order yet. Recieved my order 'made fresh' and drove the literally 5 mins home from the restaurant and ate right away. Most of the order was cold as if sitting way to long in the kitchen waiting to go out. This would not have been the case if all was fresh made like they told me it was. Sweet potato fries were reasonably portioned for an appetizer but bland taste and literally COLD and limp as if sitting on counter for over an hour or more. The $8.79 black and blue is not impressive, not worth the money, not blackened and not as pictured on Google. Checked the order before I left and pointed out size discrepancy and naked burger even though i ordered magnim with bacon - waitress said that's just the way they are. I got 6inch wide cold bare tough bun dwarfed the 3.5 inch x .5 inch ground meat patty (yes, I measured when i got home). Litteraly 1scant tbsp of blue cheese crumbles on top with season salt sprinkled over it - no blackening. Little to no flavor over all beside blue cheese. The meat patty was barely warm at best but cooked to medium. 2 quarter sized pickle chips rounded out the dish. You must pay the extra $3 to get anything else in the burger ie lettuce, tomato, mayo etc. By the time the meat was gone, almost 1/2 the empty tough bun was left. Wouldn't order another burger as final product/portion not worth the price. Previous google pics show BIG difference in portion and quality of this burger just a few months ago. The onion rings had good mostly crisp texture to beer batter, thick cut but nearly cold onions and batter starting to get soggy because it sat in their kitchen too long before serving. Generous portion for an appetizer. Ruben nachos were good -Still reasonably warm! Lots of meat in relation to the anount of crosscut fries. Good flavor and portion for appetizer. The jalapeño popper chicken wrap was nearly hot. Yeah!! . Flavors in wrap were good. Good sandwich size - Roughly 3in x 10in in size. Whole ticket was just under $50 - in short, more than half the food was cold/not serving temp and flavors were just 'ok' overall. The only compression I was given was a fountain drink to compensate me i waited for an hour past promised delivery time. Hoping it can redeem its self if given a second chance . Intetior large. Several seating areas with open-air patio seating options with a definite eclectic Irish ambiance - it could be a great...
Read morewas in iup for work.. Went to coney for dinner one night and it was packed. We waited 25 minutes for two burgers that were under cooked. The next day we went there for lunch. It took 40 minutes and several inquiries for us to get or meals. Again an under cooked burger and an extremely burnt/over cooked fried chicken sandwich. I personally had the chicken and in the end didn't get to eat lunch. The service was so slow the second day that I didn't even get a chance to stop at a fast food joint to get something because we waited so long. The owner then came out once I showed the waitress the burnt chicken and she apologized but blamed it on the restaurant being busy earlier in the day.. That's just poor service and bad cooking, not because you have to "catch up" on things. I will never go back again. Worst service I have ever had at any restaurant and I...
Read moreThis isn't a 5-star restaurant, but I gave it 5 stars because it was very good for what it was. My son and I hadn't actually planned on eating dinner there, we were just going to have a few beers and some appetizers.
We started with the waffle fries with cheese and bacon, along with pretzel rods with the sexy cheese sauce. They were pretty tasty and after a few hours and a few beers we decided we were hungry after all.
Son got the Buffalo Mac & Cheese while I opted for the Ragin' Cajun Cheeseburger. Both had some nice flavorful spices, not too hot but a little bit of bite. Mine was inhaled pretty quickly, but son couldn't finish all of his. Buy that just meant a second meal for the boy.
Overall it was great comfort food, seated outside at a comfortable sidewalk table. I saw a number of things I'd like to try on...
