If there’s a chance you may need to send your item back, don’t purchase it from Hobby Speed I bought a Lionel train from them through Amazon. It cost $248.48 and it was defective. I paid for shipping it back along with a letter detailing what was wrong with the train. They charged me a restocking fee of $186.68. That’s more than half of what the train cost. All I received was $77.14 refund. Bret didn’t feel it was necessary to give me an explanation. I’ve bought from other third party shops before without any problems None of this was Amazon’s fault. Just be ware of buying from Hobbyspeed. I called them and asked for an explanation. The train was pristine when I sent it back. Bret fabricated list of things that amounted to the train being abused. It was just a pack of lies. If the things he said were true, I shouldn’t have received a refund at all. Addition: Since my review as shown above, I made an order on Amazon not realizing it was sold and shipped from Hobbyspeed. I asked and was told that most of their business was online.
There were two gentleman working there when I came in and no other customers.
I was disappointed that neither of them greeted my nor offered me any assistance until I asked for it.
That is not the way to welcome a walk-in customer.
