If you want Mexican-American food, this is it. I know!! Indiana, PA?? Am I serious?? As serious as it gets, and I’m talking real Mexican food. As good as you can find in Southern California. L.A. County, Orange County, San Diego County.
My girlfriend and I innocently walked in to Casa Jalisco, on a Tuesday night. We both love Mexican food, so we are not hard to please, but oh my goodness. The place was super quiet, almost empty(IUP is out, and summer classes and camps haven’t really started)., but it’s a Tuesday night in western PA, what do you expect!? We didn’t know what we wanted, and it was getting late, so I ordered chips and guacamole. Solid!!! Especially the chips and salsa. Waitress suggested tacos. She said, “it’s Tuesday!! Get tacos!!” We weren’t even thinking, or aware, about the day of the week. They offer shredded chix tacos and ground beef tacos, soft and hard shells. (I think they’re a buck 75 each) We got 4. One of each. Bomb!!! Nothing special, just delicious, simple Taco Tuesday tacos. Could have easily eaten those all night and been gloriously happy, but we like to try lots of stuff, and by now, I knew we getting ready to be spoiled. Girlfriend got tacos al carbon, and I got enchiladas suizas(one of my all time favorites). Off the hook!! Spot on!! Had to try both the refried beans and the black beans. Not sure which was better. Rice was perfect!! The rice and beans, literally, could have been the best things, but I love rice and beans. Especially, Mexican style.
By now, I am flabbergasted. I had to say something to someone. The manager came and checked up on us, and I just started gushing. “What is going on??” Why is this so good?? Everything is amazing!!” He looks at me, and says, “my chef is from Mexico, and he loves cooking, and takes a lot of pride in cooking his food.” And there it is. As long as his chef is there, in Casa Jalisco’s kitchen, cooking his heart out, you will not be disappointed!!! Gracias...

Casa Jalisco isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a second home to our family. We’ve been loyal customers for over 4 years now, and we still get excited every time we make the 45-minute drive from johnstown just to enjoy the incredible food, warm atmosphere, and unbeatable service.
From the moment we walk in, we’re always greeted with a smile and treated like family. The hospitality of the owner, Oscar, is something truly special. He always goes above and beyond to make sure every guest feels welcome and cared for. You can tell how much pride he puts into the restaurant, and it shows in every detail — from the friendly staff to the perfectly prepared meals.
The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and authentic — every dish tastes like it was made with love. And one thing we always appreciate: the food is made quickly without ever sacrificing quality. Whether it’s tacos, enchiladas, or anything else on the menu, it never disappoints.
We’ve enjoyed many family dinners and casual nights out here, and each visit is something we genuinely look forward to. Casa Jalisco is more than just a place to eat — it’s a place where we feel at home.
Thank you, Oscar, and the entire Casa Jalisco team, for everything you do. We’ll keep coming back — always.
Best, Genesis, Mario & Ana

Read moreI went on a Tuesday, there was a sign outside that said for taco Tuesday the tacos would be $1.75 which is not bad at all(Did not mention SELECTED MEATS). Once we sat down and ordered (Carne asada) would not be part of the taco Tuesday promotion. In my defense I didn’t think that would be a problem since a tacos should be around $2.50- $3.50 (Assuming). My coworker got soft chicken tacos that were too runny. He was literally draining the taco before eating it. He rated the tacos at a 3/10. He said Flavor wasn’t in the room with us. With my tacos they did put a lot of meat and it was double layered. I do wish it had more seasoning because I do think the carne asada would have been a hit. But for $12.99 I don’t think it would have been worth it. With a drink and tip was...
