Ridiculously slow. 45 minutes for my food...and it was just me!
I went to my local El Maguey (it was my 2nd time going) to grab a quick bite as I work locally.
When I sat down I was only one of two tables in the restaurant, I ordered my meal expecting it to take 5 - 10 minutes. The restaurant started to fill up, including a table of 10, however I noticed after about 30 minutes that no food had come out of the kitchen.
I had to get back to work so after 40 minutes I told the waitress I needed to leave, she said my food would be another 5 minutes. I asked what took so long and the only response I got was that they had a big order. My order of 1 was in at least 5 minutes prior to any other tables (including the big table) so it just didn't make any sense.
I was late back to work and the food didn't even taste good. Too bad as the place is so close and I was hoping to turn it into a quick lunch-time option.
El Maguey? Slowest Mexican Food I've ever experienced, I will not go back, who has that...
Read moreFood is excellent, service is horrible, the supposed “waitress” took well over 15 minutes to even take our order, all the while she was busy chatting with other patrons. Never really bothered to check up on us and was non-attentive to our table. Once it was time to pay, they had a literal child manning the cash register, he was quick to take payment, but I had asked for a to-go box. Waited around for almost 10 minutes when I had to call the attention of an adult to provide a box. By then, I’d gotten my box, filled with left overs, and then proceeded to walk out the door. The same kid manning the register calls out to me, for what I’m assuming is address payment, when I overheard him say to an adult “wait he already paid”. Said adult was not aware I ALREADY PAID. They really need to work on their customer service and not leave it in the hands of children, and to better train their waitstaff. Not to mention feeling like a criminal being accused of not paying the bill when it was...
Read moreThis place is fire!!! Legit the food tastes home made! The tortillas are made fresh . You can see the ladies making them inside the kitchen. The pork ribs in red sauce is so good. Spicy to perfection. I think the rib needs cooked longer so its fall off the bone but it took me right back to Guatemala. The flavors are WOW! The Mexican guacamole is amazing as well . It does have fresh jalapenos in it. The chicken and rice was a hit with my kiddos. And they also loved the chimichanga. The salsa is great as well. The only reason I did not put 5 stars is because it was soooooo hot in there! And ive been 2 times. It was hot both times and eatting spicy food didn't help!!! And my 2 small babies were so hot their faces were blood red as 2 more babies at different tables were blood red in the face as well from the heat. Hopefully they get ceiling fans or fix their air to make the place more comfortable. And the drink was...
