Big Bazaar Indian Grocery — Local services in Indianapolis

What a unique shopping experience!! This Indian grocery store is wonderful, my husband and I went for our first time here and and was amazed at the amount of products they have and the prices were beyond reasonable. Immediately inside the front door they have a women's shop full of suits (if you need stiching and measurements they do that too) women's and men's shoes, jewelry and other goodies, the lady assisting us was very friendly and made our time there enjoyable. Across from her shop they have a meat counter offering fresh meats. Inside the grocery store they have some of the friendliest and well mannered staff willing to help you with everything you need. I was surprised to see a section in the back of the store filled with unique Indian items that no other store I've seen has, beds, blankets, beautiful pictures, hockey items, and many other special items. They also offer you a discount card for future purchases which is a huge plus!!! Their fresh produce department could be improved as there wasn't much to choose from and the spacing in-between isles was a bit cramped, aside from that it is a very good place to shop for all your Indian...

As I walked in the staff greeted me with a warm friendliness that was unexpected though welcome. They answered my questions about some of their products, and even were able to help me locate an item I had been looking for but didn't know the name of. One of the staff offered me a sample Samosa (a wonderfully devious ploy that worked). After enjoying the flavors of the treat I couldn't help but order some food for the road. In about 10-15 minutes I had a platter of Samosas, some fresh Naan, and a large amount of Palak Paneer to take home and share. The price was great, but the food all the better. I will be...

A good selection of Indian spices, grains, fresh produce, snacks, etc. Prices are reasonable and competitive for the area. They also have a kitchen that serves lunch and dinner. The menu offers snacks (samosas, etc), breads (naan, parantha), curries, sweets and much more. I would recommend a call ahead if you plan to order from their menu. There is also a small dine-in sitting area towards the back of the store. The employees are kind and willing to help you and answer questions as needed. It's clear that they're still working out the kinks of a new business, but, so far, a great addition to the area....
