I've had such horrible luck with hair stylists since moving to the area and honestly it was really starting to affect my self worth, feeling so ugly because of my hair all the time. My hair is not difficult, I am a brunette who was just looking for some dimension in my hair. I decided to got with DL Lowry since it had such great reviews. I spent hours researching their stylists and picked the perfect one for my needs. I called weeks in advance and scheduled my appointment. I was really excited because I've been so down about my hair and I had a wedding coming up on Saturday and was really excited to look pretty. I'm crying as I write this because if you know what it's like to be done dirty by a salon then you know. It sucks. It beats you down. Hair is so important to me and so I was so excited. I felt like I finally was going to get beautiful hair again. Wrong. The night before my appointment I was so excited, I checked in online and while I was checking in I noticed a different name than the high level dimensional brunette stylist I extensively researched. I knew then that it was happening again and I was about to be shoved over. I called the next morning and sure enough, they switched the stylist to a different lower level stylist (who I'm sure is great) who doesn't specialize in what I wanted because the stylist I wanted had scheduled someone else and no longer had time for my spot. No call, no text. Just switched me. Maybe if they would've given me the courtesy of letting me know early I could've rescheduled for a time before the wedding. But no. Day of appointment when I called they informed me that they moved me and she would not have any time to see me. I informed them that I scheduled in advance and that the wedding was Saturday. They did not care. They said they would "make a note for next time" whatever that means, idk how that would help since the wedding will be long over and I can promise you I will never be going back. Read moreWhat a disappointing experience as a new customer. I arrived at 5:55 pm for my 6 pm cut/color and check in. At about 6:05, while waiting to be seen, the manager/owner comes up to me and says, "What happened dear?" I said "what do you mean?" And she says, "your appointment was at 5." I say, no it was at six." She goes on to tell me they'd never book two services at 6 pm. I was too thrown off to say I'd never book for 5 pm. Then the hairdresser shows up and chimes in, "we sent you a confirmation email and the system shows you opened it." I said I didn't recall seeing it and then opened my phone to look at my email and text messages. To which owner/manager says, "Oh look at you, checking your messages!" I wasn't even sure what to make of that at this point. She lets me know I'll be charged a 50% fee for being late for the appointment. I said if I missed it was an honest mistake because I made it for 6.She offers to let me get my hair cut but reschedule a color, and I am assuming I would get the benefit of the doubt and not get charged. then I see the 50% charge receipt come through, and I ask if that's going to stand if I get my hair cut now, and she says yes, because you were late. So I pointed out she was being pennywise and pound foolish, throwing away a new customer that would've been a repeat customer, based on a technicality and based on a misunderstanding. And I totally get the idea of charging for no shows, but I also know you don't assume the worst of a new customer that showed up on time for what her calendar said. My wife was treated so rudely by the manager Ashley - I could not believe what I was hearing and how she spoke to her. Very belittling and condescending and treated her like she was beneath her. Stay away because they treat their customers like trash !
Just to add on to DL Lowry's response - it is completely false and customers should know this. We were the ones who cancelled all future hair appointment schedules because of how rude the staff were. Their only defence is to revert to false claims that the client mistreated their staff which is a complete lie. Completely unacceptable and everyone should know the truth so need to set this record straight.
I could not believe what I was hearing when the manager was speaking to my wife. I had to step in as my wife was silent and speechless! I told the manager we were done and to cancel all further appointments.
Also, in response to finding another salon better aligned, it’s very easy because we only asked to be treated in a respectful way but obviously that was not the case with DL Lowry. We wish you all the best and hope you can start treating clients with respect...
