Well bought a chest and king size bed with mattress. The mattress last a little more than a year. Went to the store on Laffette Road in Indiana, talked to a man their and said that I needed to place the mattress in a plastic cover, and BRING it to them, then they will place the order to have a replacement. At no time did the man state I could pay to have them come out to get the mattress until I asked. Then the man looked at my sale paper and the sales lady that sold me the furniture was standing there and started telling me that I could pay $89.00 and they will come out and get the old one and bring the new one. She will put the order in on Monday ( the day their was Friday) and should be able to deliver Friday. I then had to remind them that Monday was Memorial Day. Then they stated it would be the following Monday for them to place the order and the following Friday to receive the Mattress. So after waiting till 4:00 pm on the Friday that the order was to came, NO CALL! So I called and she the said she did not get it yet and will call to see where the mattress was in roughy. She then stated she would call me back in a few minutes. Place was open till 8:00 pm NO CALL AGAIN! Called them Saturday at 12:00 noon and grant it called 4 times without anyone picking up the phone, and I told my husband that if they do not pick up we are going their. Finally the sales lady answered and said she forgot to call me back and said that the first set of paperwork sent was wrong so they had to resubmit it. Said she will have to wait till Monday and that my mattress will be here on Friday. Well waited till 2:30 pm today and called and she said that she made sureI was to get the mattress cause she had them place 2 extra ones on the truck, she was going to. All and find out we’re it was and call me back. By 4:00 pm NO CALL AGAIN! I called her and she said that they had to wait till Monday again to do my order. I don’t usually write reviews but other people need to know this information. I won’t list the sales lady’s name but if she reads this she knows who she is! ALL THIS TROUBLE, NO ONE EVEN OFFERING TO REFUND MY $89.00 I will be their Monday when they open and watch them place my order in their system. I bought a queen size mattress, box spring, and head board. They had excellent customer service and I was so pleased that I even came back to purchase some bunk beds for my children. I will NEVER buy from here again. The crazy thing is someone just said something to day about never buying furniture from anywhere on Lafayette Road. Anyways, Cody was my salesman. He looked kind of sleepy but I didn't really care because I'm buying a bed how awake do you have to be to sell a bed? So, I came in to get a quote, then came back a week later to purchase. It turned out that my purchase price would be less than what I was quoted! I specified when I got the quote and when I came in to purchase that I would like the price to include delivery AND SET UP. As he is filling out the Purchase order he skips the section about the assembly charge, but I'm not paying any attention because I am trying to keep my 3 year old calm because it is nap time and he was getting agitated. So, delivery day comes. I'm at work. Someone is in my home to receive the delivery people and they let me know that they have not assembled anything. So now I am mad because there is nothing that I can do from work. After work, I call the store and I speak with the most unprofessional manager in customer service that I have ever spoken to. He wasn't apologetic for his salesman's mistake, nor did he try to remedy the situation. He wanted me to pay an additional $50 because his salesman was too tired to ring me up correctly. They don't offer refunds, they aren't professional, and after they get your money they don't care about the customer. I have worked in customer service for 10 years and I still don't understand how a MANAGER can condone the mistakes of his subordinate. Read morePlease, do not do business with this establishment. They are beyond unprofessional. I order furniture months ago. I never retrieve anything. After, weeks I retrieve a phone call from a gentlemen stating my mattress was here. I said. “Well, what will I do with a mattress”? I need the rest of the furniture. This was also the agreement prior to me agreeing to any contract and/or retrieving any furniture. Shortly after this conversation( approximately three weeks later), I started getting phone calls requesting payment and they never delivery anything.
So, I decided to cancel. I walk into the store, and told the gentlemen I would like to cancel my contract and explain the issue. He said “I called you, and told you we had the mattress, bed, and two night stands”. I reiterated to him that was not the conversation. If fact, it was the complete opposite.
In that same conversation, I told him I knew you had the mattress weeks ago, please do not contact me until the rest of my furniture arrives. I cannot do anything with only a mattress. He proceeded to cancel my contract which I appreciate, but for a furniture establishment, one would think, a person who is agreeing to pay thousands of dollars for furniture, they would more proactive and polite.
Meaning, putting me on a constant contact schedule updating on the status of my furniture and thanking me for my wait and business. When I came-in to buy furniture, I would appreciate a welcome greeting like—can I get you a seat, refreshment, etc.
By the time of I decided to cancel and express my confusion, I would of expected a apology for any inconvenience. In addition, a statement along these lines “Your decision to cancel with our business is heart-wreckening. Mr. blank, could I do you a favor now by contacting the merchant and see if I can get a approximated date. We appreciate your business”.
