Bon Appetit Haitian American Restaurant — Restaurant in Indianapolis

I'm not Haitian and never been to Haiti, but wanted to try Haitian food, especially since Indianapolis has a large and growing Haitian population. Went here for lunch with a few coworkers and it seemed there was a slight language barrier between us and the person working the counter (English likely wasn't their native language so I'm not upset by this), but we managed to order what we wanted. It took a while for the food, but it was fresh so I'm not complaining. I had the chicken with rice & beans. The chicken was PHENOMENAL, but the rice & beans were pretty average. I ended up adding the juice from my chicken to the rice & beans and it was much more enjoyable. If this restaurant is an example of what Haitian food is then I can confidently say I enjoy Haitian food and will l be back here in the future.

The first time I noticed this restaurant, it was in 2019, and I was on Lafayette road driving west toward walmart I wanted to stop by, but the pandemic happened. A couple of months ago, I was in the area, shopping , and decided to walk in for lunch. I was very disappointed to know that they had permanently closed down the place. Terrible customer service. Cashier barely said anything it was almost as if we were a burden coming into the restaurant. We asked for a menu and they gave us a piece of paper with a bunch of pictures of generic Haitian food. The entire time the lady working the counter looked upset we was there. Ended up walking out. Terrible customer service. Weird smell in the restaurant and mouse traps in the customer area. Clearly have a rodent problem.
