AFS KItchen — Restaurant in Indianapolis

The food was good until now. Service has never been top but that’s normal for atypical Nigerian restaurants - it’s just not their forte. So let’s just focus on the food. Their food used to taste fresh and nice. Until… one day, I ordered online, the food delivered to I and my family came in like old food, tasting as though it was cooked days before. I thought maybe it was an oversight. One day, I walked into the restaurant, and noticed that they started this buffet style setting that is ‘supposedly’ meant to speed up the process of serving customers. These meals are left in bare stainless, opened , with nothing keeping it warm. You are proceeded to be served. On this faithful day, I was dished food by someone in their regular clothes with nothing over the clothes, hair out, bare hands, this person was simultaneously eating while also serving. Again, focus is on the food, nothing else at this point (it was just hard to neglect). Anyway, food was placed in a plate and put in a microwave to heat up. I was handed over my food. Upon eating, the food ended up distasteful again. Their food used to be really really nice that you wouldn’t care about the other details. Hygiene is zero with what I saw and if not careful, food poisoning might be lurking around but many might be immune to it’. WRONG FOOD DELIVERED!! PLEASE READ!!! I ordered ogbono and amala today via DoorDash, but instead received a mixture of ogbono and okra. I immediately called the restaurant to report the issue and ask for a resolution. Unfortunately, the woman who answered was dismissive, refused to take responsibility, and kept raising her voice. She insisted I return the food and said there was nothing she could do, despite me explaining multiple times that I ordered through DoorDash. Not the way to treat a returning customer, especially one spending over $50 per meal. Had to contact DoorDash with evidence to resolve this, food was thrashed.

Also, I’ve been a regular customer since 2023, both dine-in and takeout. While I haven’t dined in recently, I occasionally order via DoorDash. One consistent issue I’ve noticed in my past 3–4 orders is that the protein (fish, beef, tripe, etc.) is always cold. It seems like they pull it straight from the fridge and just drop it into warm soup. I’ve had to reheat my food midway through eating more than...

The food here was amazing!!! I was looking for a decent Nigerian restaurant in Indy apart from the other ones with terrible reviews and bad customer service 😅, so I decided to give this place a try due to the good, however limited reviews on google. And yes! Trust the reviews!!! This place is only about a year old, that’s why there’re aren’t many feedbacks but the existing feedbacks have been good, so I decided to drop mine and hopefully get someone else to try this place out. To the management/owner: I sincerely hope you keep this energy and continue to provide high quality food and services to anyone who walks though your door. Enjoy the pictures below, just like I totally enjoyed my dine-in experience. Also Pls update your menu for first time customers and on the receipt should be individual items and their price listed.
