In my unscientific estimate, there's probably a zillion different ways to have fun in this store. There's just so many games! No matter what genre of tabletop gaming you're into, whether you're a casual player or dedicated gamer, Game Preserve will definitely have something for you. Beginning in the front of the store, you'll find the familiar family favorites. As you work your way in, you'll discover rows of dice, cards and what seems like every board game under the sun. If you have a favorite movie or TV show, they have games for that. Like historic or sci-fi themes? They have those games. Party games? Yep. Popular new releases? Got those. Miniature games? Yes, plus all the paints and brushes to customize your set. Staff is always super friendly and helpful when you're looking for something specific or trying to choose between their many titles. I've bought several gifts there plus several games for myself, all have been a huge hit. In the evenings, they open up their huge side room for games (I often see people playing Magic the Gathering and I know there’s open game nights too). Plus there's a rewards program for repeat customers. I'll definitely be back!

You might be thinking to yourself, "I know it smell crazy in there." And depending on the day and density of gamers present, you might be right. But that's part of the atmosphere that comes with the territory, and when it comes to tabletop gaming, CCGs, miniatures, and related hobbyist paraphernalia, the Game Preserve is the absolute one-stop shop. One can frequently find dudes running TTRPG campaigns or Magic: The Gathering card tournaments in the large connected game room, which is a blessing for avid gamers of all ages looking to satisfy that anytime itch whenever GenCon isn't currently happening in Indy. Go buy some games for your home there, and you'll almost certainly be able to find someone who can explain it to you in great detail.

This game store easily clears all others in Indy (perhaps excluding its own second location). Great selection and knowledgeable staff, their points rewards system is the only one that's actually worth your while! Great place to play warhammer and magic the gathering on tournament nights. The redesign really brought new life, I love the fantastical interior.

Nice friendly staff, wasn't annoyed by my small talk.

Very eager to help which is a quality that's almost nonexistent these days.

Very nice display case for singles which are reasonably priced.

Amazing points system that benefits them and the customer if you're a magic player. For every $100 spent is $10 in store credit. So a 10% "rebate" if you would call it that.

A nice flat rate on booster boxes, new or old.

I could easily have bought everything I've got there online for slightly cheaper, but I would rather pay the extra $10 per box and get the $10 store credit, but supporting a store that hosts events and builds a community is worth every penny to me. Tcgplayer isn't gonna come to my town and host events anytime soon..

My one criticism is the selection of pre-built commander decks was slim.

With all that being said, this is coming from a person who lives 20 miles away and was more than happy to make the drive over buying online. I would make the drive 100x over rather than supporting the "Wal-Marts" of magic.

This review did not mean to turn into an "I hate big box store rant" truly it's just a nice shop.

They also carry many other products. I know Pokemon cards for sure. Board games of all varieties. And even spooky ouiji boards lol.

Note that this review is just from retail experiences. I haven't had the chance to attend any events.

Also this is coming from a person who is very picky about retail stores.

Overall score: 9/10. Great singles, Good customer service from a knowledgable person. Fair pricing.

P.S. To all you single fellows out there. Both of the girls who I've seen work the register are attractive young women. (Sorry for being creepy.) But seriously dudes don't harass women. That's like the one thing magic cards need to teach their players. All of us magic players know there's a group of players who are on the creepy side. You know...

I really like the friendly atmosphere here along with the really wide selection of games, RPG Books, Miniatures and Paints. If you need paints - be it Citadel or Army Painter or Turbo Dork, the more than likely have it. I've also been really impressed with just how organized the store is too. All of the big miniature games have their own section, located nearby the paint section, save for the Dungeons and Dragons/Pathfinder style miniatures which are located in the RPG Book section.

I will say if you're a Yu-Gi-Oh! Player than unless you're wanting to pick up a deck box or a binder, this place wouldn't be for you as they do not sell Yu-Gi-Oh! products, they do however sell Magic the Gathering and Pokemon.

Customer Service seems to have really improved over the years too, I feel very welcomed by the staff and they seem to be very knowledgable about what's in their store.

Overall, Game Preserve is a good place if you're a Dungeon Master, Table Top RPG player, Miniatures player, or are just looking to pick up a new board game or TCG Accessories. Definately worth a visit if you're into the Table Top...
