Been going to this location for close to 20 years or more...Ordered food online from skyline website... went and picked it up, no problem. Got home, noticed that they didn't put cheese in bag or hotsauce, crackers for the chili...called the store, they said it was a doordash issue and I said I ordered online from skyline website, didn't realize it was through doordash. Couldn't understand the guy talking as he was mumbling something and I said sorry didn't hear you and was met with "we'll see you when you get up here" me: "ok" and then as they hung up a very rude "god damn dude." Went up to the store and just explained that I wasn't aware it transitioned to doordash, not sure why that matters when all they needed to do was give me the cheese they left out. I said the guy I talked to was a rude mf because he was and it was not that big of a deal to be speaking to me in the manner he was and because I caught what he said before he hung up and it's RECORDED on my phone and I was met with "don't cuss at me and don't come back..." , instead of disciplining or asking the guy why he would say that, no, I guess it was my fault he was rude and couldnt be bothered...1) i wasnt cussing at the manager, i was cussing about the rude guy that answered the phone and couldnt be professional, cussing at me first, telling me "god damn dude" because i guess they have an issue with people calling about messed up orders...even though they were all sitting around with zero customers in the restaurant. All this over cheese and lacking customer service. The guy making food was laughing the whole time, guess he finds rude customer service amusing and wanted to put his own attitude in...if that's the case, I dont want to come back. I hope the people sitting there when i went back heard everything...Work on your customer service and how to treat customers issues instead of "god damn dude" type stuff...really surreal...maybe they were having a bad day...there was no one in there, i can see why now. Management and service in there used to be great, they even knew me well, not anymore. The food has declined in quality along with the service. Did I have some choice words for them on the way out? Sure I did, but that's because they were rude and insulting employees in a place I've been coming to with no problems waaaayyyy before any of those guys worked there...I hope the owner see's this and contacts me for what happened, because that was all uncalled for and he needs to hear what his employees are saying. Maybe corporate would like to hear also...besides, there are other Skylines out there without the shoddy service and attitude. On top of it all, about chipped my tooth on a piece of plastic or something left in the 5 way...gross place...I mean, what is wrong with those people? If you don't like working there, get a new job...service was great before...
Read moreIt truly pains me to write this review, because I love Skyline Chili. I grew up in the Cincinnati area and went to Skyline all the time, so it has always held a special place for me. Unfortunately, my husband and I had one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had at this location.
We arrived around 8:00 p.m. (the store closes at 9:00), which has never been an issue at other Skylines since service is typically fast and welcoming. However, as soon as we walked in, an employee in the back loudly remarked, “Here comes everyone right when we’re closing,” while chatting with someone at the counter. That immediately made us feel unwelcome, but we decided to stay since I was excited to see the renovated interior.
During our visit, it was clear that only one server was actually working. She was running nonstop taking orders, serving food, refilling drinks, checking out customers, and even cleaning while another employee stood behind the counter gossiping. We could hear this person from across the dining room talking negatively about customers’ orders, her work schedule, and how she didn’t want more guests to come in. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional.
To make matters worse, part of my order (fries) never arrived, despite reminding the server. I don’t fault her, though it was obvious she was doing her best under difficult circumstances.
In the past, when I’ve been to this location, the experience was great especially when (I believe) the manager was present. He clearly cares about the business and the customers. Unfortunately, not all staff share that same level of dedication, and it really impacts the experience.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because I would love to continue visiting this location, but the issues with certain employees need to be addressed before it drives...
Read moreUsually love Skyline - but this experience was awful. The food was fine but the service was not good. Server brought our food out and asked if we needed a refill and we said yes. We noticed it was taking a while but she was having to change the coke out.. no problem we understand that taking a few minutes but after it was fixed she never brought us a refill.. and never checked on us after receiving our food.. I’m not usually one to complain or leave a bad review - I try to have grace with servers as I used to be one myself but this was just awful. Then I asked for the drink to be taken off the receipt, and the cashier was unhelpful and didn’t offer anyway to make it a better experience. She just said no you still have to pay for it even if you didn’t get a refill. No offer of a discount or anything. I guess the cashier did give us a to go drink but it would have been nice to have something to drink with our food. I truly love Skyline but sadly this makes me not want to return to...
