The Gold Cobbler — Local services in Indianapolis

I called to inquire about this location's watch repair service. Not only did the gentleman who answered refuse to provide the name of the watch repair professional who actually provides the repair service (so I could check references on his past work), he was quick to shunt me off to other businesses and did not appear knowledgeable enough about watches to answer my questions regarding pricing or what to expect in regards to the service. I would NOT recommend going to a place for a watch repair that is not willing to disclose their source for said watch repair.

UPDATE so I can clarify to the store's reply: I asked for an estimate of a worst case scenario, replacing the swiss automatic movement, something which is totally estimable without seeing a watch in person. This really shows the individual's lack of knowledge of watches, since a movement swap is something that would be easily calculated as cost of part + labor, the cost is neutral regarding damage to the current movement provided the case nor crystal is not also destroyed. I never once asked for the estimate via phone, but you refused to even contact your guy who has 27 years of "unverifiable" repair experience. Even industry watchmakers maintain a reputation in the horology community, the fact you refused to disclose who it was indicates the possibility of several items of concern regarding Gold Cobbler's third party "repair service". After being very disappointed with Moyers, I was referred here through my fiancé that had his necklaces fixed. Walked in and was welcomed, showed him my engagement ring that was too big, it still being in the box he guess it was a size 7( me and my fiancé were shocked he could guess it without fulling seeing it -he’s that good) he complimented us on the ring and walked us through our options since we needed to take the ring down a whole size and a half which can be difficult given the diamonds on the sides.
