This was my first try. The meat shawarma had too much cardamom and spices. The meat itself is amazing, but the heavy seasoning made it hard to really enjoy the natural flavor of the meat with the garlic sauce. A lighter touch on the spices would let the classic combination of meat and garlic shine through, that’s what makes a real shawarma taste special. On the positive side, the bread was very good and paired nicely with the wrap.
Also, an Arabic shawarma meal should usually come with pickles and a small portion of veggies on the side. This one only came with fries and sauce, which honestly didn’t feel like a complete meal. The wrap alone is $9.99, but the “meal deal” is $13.99 so essentially you’re paying $4 more just for fries and sauce, which doesn’t really make it feel like a true meal upgrade.
The portion size was okay, but the price felt a bit high. That said, I understand making authentic shawarma in this market requires more resources, so I’ll give it some leeway.
I will give it another try to see if this level of seasoning is how they usually prepare the meat, or if it was just a one-time thing. Hopefully next time the experience will...
Read moreThe moment you walk thru the doors you know this is the real deal. You’re greeted with a welcoming smile and the smell of fresh fire roasted meats. I had the beef shawarma wrap and the flavor on it was next level. The fries were hot and crispy too with sodas only seen in the bodegas of Palestine. My only recommendation is for more evenly sliced pieces of meat so the bites can be equally cooked but other than that it was 🔥. Some in my family ordered the chicken shawarma in wraps and bowls and they loved it too especially the freshness in each bite. Their only criticism is that it needs more flavor to be authentically Palestinian. The quality of service and atmosphere was exceptional considering they’ve only been open a week which is where growing pains are most seen. Definitely give them a try and support your local...
Read moreThe shawarma was average. I chose the spicy garlic sauce and the sauce was neither spicy nor did it have any garlic flavor. The shawarma is a simple dish and all of the creativity comes out through the spices and sauce. It was just bland. The fries were awful too. The oil did not seem fresh and the fries were soggy. The packaging is lovely but you should focus on the flavors more because thats more important. The free baklava on opening day was the best thing. An extra star just for the baklava. It was fresh and delicious. The service was incredibly slow. But that could be because it was opening day. I really wish for your success. But there is lots...
