I really did not want to write this. I presumed the owner, big, tall, bearded, unapologetic, terse, and dismissive in that faux sort of way so he can claim he was polite was just having a bad morning. But then I look at the reviews and it seems that if that is the case, it's been going on for some time.
We love ordering their food. Had hungry family and suggested BB which is a long time favorite. The delivery option was over an hour, so I volunteered to go and pick up. That was a huge mistake as it has likely changed our mind about ever ordering from here again. If I wanted to be treated as the "Soup Nazi" in Seinfeld treated people, this is the place to go!
Food wasn't ready when I got there, but the very nice lady in the front said it was close. Great! We had a nice exchange. I sat down and visited with some eat in customers. I occasionally checked the expeditor window where two large, open bags were being worked on. Other's came in, ordered, waited, and were served. Small orders are quicker. No problem. But around 11:55a I saw the large bags were folded and stapled shut, so I walked up to the window. There were people working on orders clearly, but there were also a couple standing there. I asked, "excuse me, but I believe my order is ready. I think it's those large bags." Mr Beard himself turns and responds, "sir, if you order was ready we would call your name. Can't you see we are busy here? Geez, some people...." Huh? That's the response? From a person just standing there, "busy"...owner or not, it would have taken two seconds to look at the expeditor shelf in front of him and see the order stapled to the shut bags and confirm whether it was mine or not.
I sit back down and wait because clearly, I am wrong. Whether I am told impolitely, that must be someone else's order.
15 minutes later. They move the 2 large bags to the front counter b/c they need space for more orders. Nothing.
5minutes later. Mr. Beard comes to the front counter, looks at the bags, then to me. "Hey, what's your name on the order"?, he asks. I state it. "Ya, these are yours. Are you a Dasher"?, he asks/assumes with a tone of disdain.
"No, I'm the person who paid for the stapled shut bags and asked about them 20 minutes ago", I respond
"we just finished them", Mr. Beard responds curtly.
"I don't think so. They were stapled shut 20 minutes ago"
"Whatever, take your food and goodbye".
This guy has no business interacting with the front. He may have a good concept, run a good business, but today, and it appears lately, has very poor customer facing interactions and maybe has encouraged it to flourish in the shop among others working there.
The food biz is tough. Every customer is a gift to cherish. And when you are using highly commoditized biscuits from a box, gravy from a bag, and bagels made somewhere else, what you offer is very tenuous. We can do better and will in the future.

Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of hiring the food truck from Bearded Burger for a neighborhood party, and I must say it was an absolute disaster. From the moment the owner arrived, it was clear that we were in for a rude and unpleasant encounter.
First and foremost, the owner of Bearded Burger's demeanor was shockingly rude. He seemed to carry an unnecessary anger and aggression, which was completely uncalled for. As if that wasn't bad enough, I was appalled to witness him moving his trailer in a careless and aggressive manner, even with kids present nearby. It was not only unsafe but also showed a complete disregard for the well-being of others.
The terrible service continued when interacting with the owner at the counter. He displayed an alarming level of rudeness towards guests, leaving a sour taste in everyone's mouths. It's truly disheartening when you're met with such hostility while trying to support a local business.
Furthermore, the food at Bearded Burger itself was far from impressive, and the prices were exorbitant considering the quality and the appalling service we received. It's astonishing to me that the owner of Bearded Burger has ever managed to retain a repeat customer with the way he treats people.
Needless to say, my experience with Bearded Burger was utterly disappointing, and I will never make the mistake of hiring their food truck again. I strongly discourage anyone from supporting Bearded Burger, as they clearly lack basic customer service skills and fail to deliver a satisfactory...
Read moreMy recent experience at Bearded Bagel was incredibly disappointing and frankly insulting.
We drove up from Greenwood to visit Bearded Bagel on a a rainy Fourth of July morning. Despite being loyal customers who have supported them at most local markets they've attended, we were treated with blatant disrespect and hostility by the main owner.
Upon entering with our own coffee (as we intended to place a to-go order), instead of a warm greeting or even a polite reminder of their policy, we were immediately accosted by the owner. His tone was condescending and accusatory, making us feel unwelcome from the moment we walked in.
Rather than attempting to foster goodwill or suggesting we try their coffee next time, he launched into a tirade about their strict no-outside-coffee policy. This could have been handled with tact and understanding, especially given our history of support, but instead, we were rudely kicked out.
It's truly disheartening when a business fails to appreciate its loyal customers. The owner's behavior was not only unprofessional but downright insulting. We've spent countless dollars supporting Bearded Bagel at various markets, only to be treated like second-class citizens for a minor oversight. I cannot in good conscience recommend Bearded Bagel to anyone after this experience. Their bagels may be good, but their customer service and appreciation for patrons clearly leave much...
