Latrina Hynes was my therapist for 2 years. The first year was with Kaiser, and the second year was insured by a grant from the California Victim’s Compensation fund. Latrina was very helpful during my first year of therapy. During my second year with her, things declined. The pandemic was hard on everyone, and thus, many of us saw this change reflected in our mental health care as well. Appointments went virtual as expected, but she failed to give me common courtesies like rescheduling appointments she was too busy for, or informing me ahead of time that my session would be a phone call instead of a video, despite knowing that I did not want to have phone therapy appointments. During my two years with Latrina, we never set or reviewed goals. This has never been the case for me in therapy. Conveniently, once my funds ran out, I was terminated by Latrina for a rule that was: Unwritten Not ever discussed with me as a rule The entire exchange was reactive and over text message— the most unprofessional thing a therapist has ever done to me. She also spelled my name wrong the entire time she was my therapist, despite my informing her and her literally having to correct the mistake on a form. I’ve had three therapists in my life, and I’ve never been discarded by one. Ever.
TLDR: Latrina Hynes is an unprofessional therapist who took no accountability for the traumatizing, unprofessional way she dumped a patient, or failed to provide any system of structure or review for her patient. Hold her accountable for quality care if you...

I had been going to this therapy practice for almost two years and had a wonderful therapist (not Latrina) who truly supported my growth and healing. However, I recently decided to stop supporting this practice after an incredibly unprofessional exchange with the owner, Latrina Hynes.
A billing issue arose due to a miscommunication, and instead of handling it with care and professionalism, the owner provided some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced—especially from someone who is supposed to be a therapist. She was dismissive, more focused on proving herself right than finding a solution, and ultimately left me without access to therapy.
When I asked about a refund for the unused credit I had already paid for, she insisted that the only option was to refund it to a card I no longer have, offering no alternative solutions. Her rigid, unsupportive approach was the exact opposite of what you’d expect from someone in her field. After a frustrating back-and-forth where she seemed more invested in arguing than resolving the issue, I made it clear that I wasn’t interested in debating with a therapist. The best part: this was all done over TEXT MESSAGE.
As a result, I lost access to my therapy sessions, and my unused funds are essentially being withheld. When I return to therapy, it will absolutely not be with this practice. I cannot recommend supporting a business where the leadership lacks the very qualities--compassion, problem-solving, and professionalism-- are essential...
Read moreI’m so grateful for Peace and Mind Wellness Center. My therapist Camia in particular is probably the best therapist I’ve ever had, which is saying a lot because I’ve had many. She doesn’t just listen well, she also gave me simple yet powerful tools and perspective changers that have been transformative in my life. My interactions with the center’s management has also been outstanding. It’s a challenge finding the right therapist, and this center has proven to be trustworthy and provides exceptional care....
