I just wanted to give a special shout out to Tap. Tap was extremely professional, assertive, and kind in helping me with a bit of an awkward predicament. While shopping at this Target I was approached by a young mother with her very small baby, about 2-3 months old. She asked me to buy her some items that she could not afford for her baby. Of course I was hesitant, but this pulled at my heartstrings. Whether or not I was being scammed, this girl and her baby were not in a good situation. I picked three things out of her basket that I felt were more necessary/urgent in caring for the baby, and then we headed to the self-checkout. However, once we started ringing up the items, I quickly realized that the total would be around $100. The small can of baby formula alone was about $60! At this point I really didn’t know what the right thing to do was. I turned to her and explained that this was too much for me to spend, and that I really wanted to help her but had no way of knowing if she was telling me the truth. She swore to me that she was and just needed help, but unfortunately we live in a world where people do things like this to take advantage of others. How am I supposed to know? I asked her if we could take the things back and find cheaper options, and she agreed. On our way towards the baby section, I notified one of the target members about what was going on, as I had no idea what to do. She in turn, quickly called in someone that could handle this kind of situation, and in comes Tap. I’m not sure if he was a manager or part of security, but he was definitely a life saver, and could be quite literally. He explained to me that some people will do this as a scam. They will talk you into paying for things, and then the next day they will come back and return the items you bought for cash or store credit. Tap also has connections with a food bank and could provide the woman with this information if she really needed the help. After explaining this to me he handled everything so beautifully. He was very assertive and let the woman know that he unfortunately had to escort her out of the store as it is definitely not store policy to be asking other customers to pay for her items. He also told her that he would provide her with information to a food bank if she really wanted the help. She agreed to this and they both went on their way to sort it all out. So thank you to Tap for all his help, and for the kindness he showed even though the probability of it being a scam were high. He is a 5 star employee, and any employer would benefit...
Read moreTo say that the experience I just had at this Target was outstanding would be a massive understatement. I placed a drive up order very shortly before showing up and was greeted with the warmest, friendliest, and overall most professional Target employee who has ever existed. His name was Mike. Mike's very essence oozed class and his amicable demeanor made me know my groceries were in the most capable of hands. I have no doubt the food I cook with said groceries will turn out better than a prix fixe meal from a Michelin star restaurant due to Mike’s guidance of his team members giving them the superior ability to pick the best and most fresh produce and bring them to my car. Even though I did not enter the premises of the physical Target location it is clearly evident that due to Mike's leadership qualities this location is far superior to all other Targets. It would greatly behoove Target to find a way to get Mike on the fastrack to executive leadership as I (a very frequent Target customer) would be even more likely to spend much more money at Target if I knew someone like Mike had a large amount of influence on the company at the executive level. With someone of his caliber at the helm of an entire region of Targets I have no doubt that Targets overall sales in said region would multiply exponentially and Walmart would probably go out of business in the area swiftly. In short this experience with Mike has led me to “expect more”; not only from Target, but from myself due to his...
Read moreJuly 15, 2024 It’s clear that Target at Irvine Spectrum Mall doesn’t give a damn about their customers’ feedback. I previously left a review about the inconvenience of closing the self-checkout area that leads back to the mall an hour before closing. Despite this, nothing has changed.
In fact, even today, all self-checkouts are closed, and the one at the entrance I was complaining about now closes at 8:30 PM, which is an hour and a half before the store’s closing time. This forces customers to exit through the parking lot and walk around to get back into the mall, which is extremely frustrating.
Target’s lack of response to repeated feedback shows a complete disregard for customer convenience and satisfaction. It’s disappointing to see such a well-known brand ignore the concerns of its shoppers.
—————— July 11, 2024: The Target at Irvine Spectrum Mall has a significant inconvenience that occurs about an hour before closing. This store has two entrances/exits: one that takes you back into the shopping mall and another that leads to the parking lot.
About an hour before closing, they shut down the self-checkout area that allows you to return to the mall. This forces you to use the self-checkout or attended checkouts on the parking lot side. As a result, you have to walk through the parking lot and around the building to get back into the mall.
It would be much more convenient if the mall-side self-checkouts remained open until closing time to avoid this...
